LPPD Chapter 41 The Indeedee That Seems to Have OCD

Indeedee’s invisibility piqued Lu Li’s curiosity. With anticipation written all over his face, he asked, “Can you demonstrate it again?”

Indeedee nodded, then vanished from sight once more.

Lu Li hurriedly took out his phone, wanting to record the process of Indeedee turning invisible.

But something strange happened.

Lu Li glanced at his phone screen, then looked at the empty space in front of him and fell into thought.

Indeedee was completely invisible to the naked eye, yet on the phone’s camera feed, it was clearly still standing right where it had been.

“Is it using psychic power to distort the perceptions of nearby humans?” Lu Li speculated inwardly about the principle behind Indeedee’s invisibility.

If that was the case, then human technology was still somewhat useful.

Thinking this, Lu Li put away his phone.

Thirteen days had passed since Pokémon descended upon the world and the apocalypse began. No one in the camp would wander around aimlessly filming things with their phone for no reason.

In other words, Indeedee’s invisibility was indeed effective—provided, of course, that there was no one in the camp with so much free time that they had nothing better to do.

“Let’s go.” Lu Li led the way.

Indeedee followed behind him curiously.

“It really is exactly the same, whether in appearance or behavior, but its life essence is far too low-level.” Indeedee kept studying Lu Li from behind.

If it did not deliberately sense his aura, he was practically indistinguishable from a “real human.”

As a versatile butler, before coming to this world, Indeedee had been a Pokémon student attending a butler academy.

Because the butler academy had been founded by humans, Indeedee that graduated from there would generally go on to serve as butlers for wealthy businessman or nobles. As a result, Indeedee knew many things that ordinary Pokémon did not.

In other words, Indeedee was actually a Pokémon that had been raised and trained by humans, and one with formal certification at that.

That was also one of the reasons it had not gone on a “killing spree” after arriving in this world.

“Oh, right. There’s a Mime Jr. on the second floor of the mall. If you’re interested, you could take it back to the hotel with you.” Lu Li suddenly remembered the Mime Jr. in the mall.

Compared to Indeedee, which fed on positive emotions, Mime Jr. was more like a well-meaning child that enjoyed playing pranks. But to humans, those pranks could very well be disastrous.

So Lu Li wanted to give it a try and see whether Indeedee could take in this “little demon” Mime Jr.

Indeedee’s eyes lit up when it heard this.

It was familiar with Pokémon like Mime Jr. They liked pantomime and were also very good at housework.

Indeedee already had to care for so many people in the hotel while also protecting them, so it had been feeling rather busy itself.

If it could bring Mime Jr. back to help out, that might actually be a good thing.

Indeedee nodded.

But Lu Li had no idea whether that nod meant it understood or that it agreed to take Mime Jr. in.

Still, in order to avoid annoying Indeedee, Lu Li did not press the matter.

It would be best if Mime Jr. was taken away, but even if it wasn’t, that would not be too terrible either.

The two of them soon arrived at the sixth floor.

The moment they entered the camp’s area, Indeedee’s eyes lit up, and even its spirits seemed to improve considerably.

It discovered that although this gathering place of fake humans was likewise shrouded in despair and fear, there was also quite a lot of positive emotion surging through it—the amount of positive emotion here was at least twice that of the hotel.

Indeedee unconsciously began absorbing the positive emotions around it, and even its steps became lighter.

After being in this world for so long, it finally no longer had to go hungry. Although it still could not eat its fill, at the very least it would no longer be starving.

Thinking this, Indeedee involuntarily moved a little closer to Lu Li.

The person with the most positive emotion of all was Lu Li. Compared to everyone else, who more or less carried some despair in their hearts, Lu Li had very little despair within him. What he had instead was boundless anticipation for the future.

Lu Li deliberately avoided the crowds as he introduced the camp’s general situation to Indeedee.

“This area is…”

“That over there is the leader’s office. It’s the office of the woman you locked up that day.”

“And here…”

“Leader? What are you doing?” A voice suddenly interrupted Lu Li’s explanation.

Liu Li was holding her daughter’s hand as she looked at him with a strange expression.

The reason Liu Li had taken the initiative to call out to Lu Li was because she had noticed something was off about him. He looked just like what people in the camp often described as being “possessed by a ghost.”

There was clearly nothing beside Lu Li, yet he was gesturing around randomly as though he were talking to something that did not exist.

Worried that Lu Li had fallen victim to some demon beast’s trick, Liu Li had deliberately come over to snap him out of it.

Lu Li did not know about Liu Li’s good intentions, but he could still sense her goodwill, so he explained softly, “It’s nothing. I’m just walking around and checking on the camp. If there’s nothing you need, you should head back for now. I’m pretty busy here.”

Liu Li nodded with a worried expression, but still took her daughter and left.

Seeing how sensible she was, Lu Li secretly breathed a sigh of relief, then turned around and continued showing Indeedee around the camp.

The camp was not very large, consisting of only seven or eight storefronts in total.

“Alright, we’ve pretty much finished touring the camp. Let’s go visit my place,” Lu Li invited again.

Indeedee naturally nodded happily in agreement.

After returning home, Lu Li explained somewhat awkwardly, “Sorry, it might look a little messy in here, and… given the current circumstances, I can only make do.”

Looking at the genuinely cluttered room, Indeedee wore a deeply conflicted expression.

It was almost at its limit.

But considering this was Lu Li’s home, Indeedee still forced itself to sit down.

However, it had not been sitting for long before Lu Li was about to speak when Indeedee suddenly sprang up from the chair as if it had been bitten by a bug.

“IndeedeeIndee~dee!”

Unable to endure it any longer, Indeedee immediately began tidying up the room.

Lu Li was completely dumbfounded when he saw this.

He had invited Indeedee over as a guest, not to do housework for him.

Lu Li tried to stop Indeedee, but it was a high-level Pokémon. How could he possibly stop it?

Indeedee constantly flickered around the room.

Ten minutes later.

Indeedee looked at the neat, completely transformed room and nodded in satisfaction.

“Indee~dee!” Indeedee cried happily.

Seeing Lu Li standing beside it with his mouth hanging open, Indeedee also felt a little embarrassed. It took out its drawing board and pen and began drawing again.

After finishing,

Indeedee handed the drawing to Lu Li with an apologetic expression.

The general meaning of the drawing was an apology. It simply could not tolerate such a messy home environment. Its OCD had kicked in.

Naturally, Lu Li could not blame Indeedee for being rude. Of course, he did not dare blame it either.

“It’s fine. I should be thanking you instead. You worked hard.” Lu Li hurriedly poured Indeedee a cup of tea.

He poured the tea from a bottle of Oriental Leaf and handed it to Indeedee. [TN: Oriental Leaf is a popular line of zero-calorie, sugar-free bottled ready-to-drink teas produced by Nongfu Spring.]

Indeedee shyly accepted the cup and gently took a sip.

Mm. It tasted awful.

Indeedee quietly placed it back on the table without showing any reaction.

It was not accustomed to the food in this world, because it felt that the food here lacked some kind of energy, almost as though it had no nutrition.
