LPPD Chapter 40 Invitation

“Fear?” Jun Shutong asked.

Lu Li shook his head. “It should be some kind of positive emotion. If it fed on fear, it would definitely toy with you instead of placing you in a hotel and treating you so well.”

“If that’s the case, then for us, the demon beast in the hotel is safer than the ghost demon beast?” Jun Shutong said thoughtfully.

“Not necessarily. After all, we actually don’t know much about either of those demon beasts,” Lu Li replied, leaving himself some room.

Games were games, anime was anime, and reality was reality. There were differences between all three, especially between games and reality, which were practically separated by an entire dimension.

Although he knew a lot about Pokémon, his understanding of actual Pokémon was ultimately still rather one-sided.

After all, whether in the anime or the games, Pokémon would never casually slaughter an entire city, yet Ghost-type Pokémon in the real world had genuinely done such a thing.

Of course.

That was not absolute either. After all, in some background stories from the anime, there had also been many countries that were destroyed because of Pokémon.

After comforting Jun Shutong for a while longer, Lu Li returned to his room.

The moment he entered, Lu Li heard a splash.

It was the sound of Feebas falling back into the water after using Splash move.

Lu Li looked gently at Feebas in the fish tank.

What he had noticed before had not been an illusion. His Feebas really was becoming prettier and prettier.

“Feebas, you seem to be getting livelier and prettier,” Lu Li praised as he lifted Feebas out of the tank in his hands.

Feebas looked as though it had suddenly gained intelligence, becoming much livelier overall.

What made Lu Li happiest was that his efforts were finally paying off.

Extremely excited, Lu Li put Feebas back into the fish tank, then immediately decided to go to the aquarium and haul back several bags of fish food.

Lu Li simply decided to move all the remaining fish food over today. There were only a few bags left anyway.

But next came the most troublesome problem.

Once that fish food was gone, what was he supposed to feed Feebas?

Feeling as though his head was about to split from the headache, Lu Li carefully made his way to the entrance of the aquarium.

After listening outside for quite a while and confirming that there was no movement inside, Lu Li hurriedly began moving fish food out of the storage behind the counter.

He first carried all the fish food outside the aquarium, then transported it back to his room trip by trip.

Lu Li was actually quite curious about what things were like inside the aquarium now. After all, it was far too quiet in there, so quiet that it was almost as if Pokémon had never appeared at all.

Normally speaking, considering how destructive Pokémon could be, the aquarium should have been quite lively.

At the same time.

Inside the aquarium.

A type of fish Pokémon with a dark green body and three black spots beside its chest occupied the underwater section of the aquarium.

Another type of Pokémon, with a navy-blue body, rose-red eyes, and a black tail, occupied the bottom of the aquarium.

Floating on the surface of the aquarium was a type of red crab Pokémon.

Besides them, there were also Pokémon such as Goldeen and Magikarp scattered throughout the aquarium.

They were not killing one another, nor were they even hunting one another.

A strange Pokémon with a round, plump body that was entirely pink was silently influencing the atmosphere inside the aquarium with invisible psychic power.

If Lu Li were here, he would definitely have recognized this plump pink Pokémon as none other than Slowpoke, known as the God of Dopey.

After working for nearly half an hour, Lu Li finally finished moving all the fish food. Looking at the pile of fish food in his room, he fell into deep thought.

Given Feebas’s appetite, this fish food would last at most another week, and that was under relatively ideal circumstances.

Then what about after a week?

What would Feebas eat then? What if Feebas became so hungry that it attacked him?

Just as anyone who kept large ferocious beasts as pets knew, the prerequisite for keeping a pet was being able to feed it. Otherwise, one was simply raising a tiger that would eventually become a threat.

Looking at Feebas in the fish tank, Lu Li suddenly felt a little guilty.

“I’m really terrible! How could I think that way about Feebas?” Lu Li felt so guilty that he wanted to slap himself across the face. After all, no matter how he looked at it, Feebas did not seem like someone that would eat people.

Feeling guilty, Lu Li started feeding the fish again.

After all, whenever there was nothing else to do, he might as well feed the fish first.

Two days passed in the blink of an eye.

After preparing a gift for his visit, Lu Li once again stepped into the Harbor Hotel.

Building a good relationship with a Pokémon like Indeedee could only benefit him.

The moment Lu Li arrived at the hotel, Indeedee sensed him.

Indeedee teleported in front of Lu Li, its round eyes curiously sizing him up.

“Hello, Indeedee. This is a gift I prepared for you.” Lu Li handed Indeedee an exquisitely wrapped gift box.

Indeedee raised its little hands to its mouth in surprise. It had been in this world for nearly two weeks, yet this was the first time anyone had ever given it a gift.

Indeedee happily accepted the gift.

Once the gift box reached Indeedee’s hands, it disappeared. Lu Li suspected that this kind of Psychic-type Pokémon might carry some sort of personal storage space with it.

There was a move called Secret Power, which was a Normal-type move. In the Pokémon world, Normal-type moves had one particular characteristic: many Pokémon that were not Normal-type could still learn them.

A lifestyle-oriented Pokémon like Indeedee was very likely capable of using such a move.

Indeedee took out some drawing paper and began drawing seriously.

After finishing, Indeedee handed the picture to Lu Li.

It was a comic strip. The general meaning was that it was delighted to receive the gift, but also apologetic because it had not prepared a return gift for Lu Li in advance.

Lu Li waved his hand indifferently. After all, he had not come here to receive a gift. He had come to invite Indeedee to visit the camp.

Indeedee fed on positive emotions, and Lu Li had plenty of confidence in Dawn Camp.

Under the management of Jun Shutong, a leader with a strong sense of humanitarian concern, Dawn Camp’s happiness index was definitely the highest among all the nearby camps.

Lu Li believed Indeedee would be able to “eat its fill” at the camp.

After hearing this, Indeedee showed a hesitant expression. It was worried about the other guests in the hotel, but then it thought about how the camp was not far away. If something really happened, it could simply teleport back immediately.

In the end, Indeedee nodded and accepted Lu Li’s invitation.

“However…”

Lu Li scratched the back of his head somewhat awkwardly.

Seeing that there was apparently a catch, Indeedee tilted its head and looked adorably at Lu Li.

“Try not to appear in front of the other people in the camp. They don’t understand Pokémon, so they’re very afraid of you,” Lu Li explained somewhat embarrassedly.

Indeedee, however, was not angry in the slightest. It readily accepted Lu Li’s suggestion, and its figure quietly faded from view.

It was not the kind of sudden disappearance caused by Teleport, but rather a gradual invisibility.

“Is this also an effect of psychic power?” Lu Li looked at the invisible Indeedee in surprise.

Lu Li was beginning to suspect that he had still underestimated Indeedee before. This Indeedee might not merely be a master of daily life—it was probably also very strong in battle.
