From Yoshi, Terrance obtained information on five Pokémon groups he had never known about before. These five groups were scattered across different floors, hidden in obscure locations. If Terrance had searched on his own, he would certainly have missed some of them in such a short time unless he was willing to stay here for a long period and conduct a carpet-search of every floor.
In addition, the Mawile Yoshi mentioned had piqued Terrance’s interest.
On the seventeenth floor, he had encountered powerful Pokémon such as Steelix, Scizor, Metagross, and Aggron. It was difficult to imagine that a Mawile in the wild could surpass them all in strength. Terrance truly had not expected that.
“Directly capturing powerful Pokémon is only a way to rapidly expand the Fairy Army. It takes away much of the enjoyment of raising them, but there’s no helping it…”
Biting his lip, Terrance entered the Super-ancient Pyramid. He planned to first search the earlier floors for Pokémon suitable for the Diva Project. The project was still short of two members. Counting Jigglypuff, it still lacked one more member. If he could conveniently find one here, that would naturally be for the best.
To avoid missing the time he had agreed upon with Mr. Yoshi, Terrance decided to head straight to the seventh floor first and then slowly work his way back.
Yoshi’s junior would still need two or three days to arrive at the Super-ancient Pyramid. During that time, Terrance had no intention of sitting idle.
Super-ancient Pyramid, Seventh Floor, a certain body of water.
There were only nine Lapras on this floor. Their numbers were small and fairly concentrated. Since the Pokémon Diva Idol Project already had a Lapras, Terrance did not spend much time paying attention to them.
Moreover…
“These Lapras have pretty good Ice-type talent, but their vocal talent is only average.”
Not far from the water, Terrance stood with Castform, Arcanine, and Beautifly accompanying him. Besides the Lapras, there were one or two other Pokémon groups that he had observed for a long time. He had even personally challenged them just to verify their talents.
“This Jynx has decent vocal aptitude, but it’s still a tier below the three Pokémon Hiyoko found. Besides, Jynx’s style doesn’t suit the diva project. Forget it…”
Within the icy aquatic environment, a blazing sun hung overhead.
Under the scorching sunlight, Sunny Form Castform, Arcanine, and Beautifly once again challenged a Dewgong group.
It took Terrance less than a minute to subdue them. Before long, the Dewgong had obediently quieted down and allowed Terrance and Rotom Pokédex to examine them.
The Pokémon in the Super-ancient Pyramid were all extremely shrewd. For resources and food, they would fight desperately, but when faced with someone like Terrance, who clearly would not harm their interests much, the Dewgong quickly began acting obedient and cooperative.
“This is so interesting, Roto~~” It was Rotom Pokédex’s first visit to the Super-ancient Pyramid. During Terrance’s previous trips here, it had been guarding the Diamond Cocoon at Mt. Chimney. The environment of the Super-ancient Pyramid was indeed novel to it.
“If they weren’t adaptable, they couldn’t survive in a place like this. Although Pokémon groups like these Dewgong make up the majority, there are still some Pokémon here that are rather reckless and not clever at all… If they weren’t fairly strong, they’d probably have gone extinct in this pyramid long ago,” Terrance said helplessly.
Among these Dewgong, there still wasn’t the Pokémon he was looking for.
The Pokémon within the Super-ancient Pyramid were densely concentrated, and their overall talent was outstanding. In theory, finding a Pokémon with top-tier vocal talent shouldn’t be difficult…
Very soon, Terrance arrived at the sixth floor. There was a Vibrava group here. Supersonic could also be considered a form of sound, and Vibrava’s evolved form, Flygon, is not bad looking either. However, there was still no Pokémon here that Terrance was looking for.
Next came the fifth floor, home to Chimecho and Misdreavus groups… There were also several Flygon living here, but after personally checking each one, Terrance still came up empty-handed.
Still, Terrance was not discouraged. The fourth floor also had a Misdreavus group. In addition, there were Ludicolo on the second floor and Butterfree on the first floor…
Over the course of two days, Terrance made a complete round trip through all seven floors. He had barely rested at all. It would have been fine if he had found something, but although the Pokémon groups he encountered were indeed skilled at using sound, not a single one possessed truly top-tier vocal talent.
“I made it sound too easy in my head. Still, there are some groups I haven’t encountered yet. There’s still a chance.”
After letting out a sigh, Terrance began resting on the first floor. He was already planning to leave. The time he had agreed upon with Mr. Yoshi was approaching, and he needed to meet Yoshi’s junior. Terrance intended to search again while helping the other party clear the pyramid.
He had not yet searched beyond the seventh floor of the pyramid.
Besides that, he also needed to seriously look for the Mawile on the seventeenth floor.

After resting, Terrance immediately took a shortcut through a remote area thick with bushes as he prepared to leave. Just then, a long, lingering sound drifted over, causing his brows to knit tightly. He quickly bit the tip of his tongue to force himself awake.
At the same time, Mismagius immediately used its illusion-skill Hypnosis, temporarily depriving Terrance of his hearing. Only after the sound had disappeared did it remove the Hypnosis effect.
“A flute sound?”
Recalling the sound from moments ago, the corners of Terrance’s mouth rose. If he had not misjudged it, that had been the sound of Grass Whistle!
Without making a sound, Terrance and his Pokémon quietly waited in place. Before long, a group of Pokémon appeared before them!
These Pokémon had a rather eerie appearance. Two crossed purple petals accompanied by purple stems and leaves, a green calyx covering part of their bodies, and two dark pink feet. Their eyes were located near their feet, deep and mysterious, giving them the feeling of Ghost-type Pokémon.
After seeing these Pokémon, Rotom Pokédex became even more excited than Terrance. It continuously analyzed the Grass Whistle recording it had just collected.
“Found it! One of those sounds has a frequency that meets the requirements. It’s among these Pokémon, Roto!!”
As Rotom Pokédex shouted loudly, the passing Pokémon immediately panicked. Naturally, Terrance had no intention of letting them get away and immediately instructed Mismagius to prevent their escape.
“Cherrim? Why are they so timid?”
Terrance blinked in surprise. He had not expected to encounter the Cherrim group that Mr. Yoshi had said was the hardest to come across on the first floor.
Cherrim possessed two different forms depending on the weather. This trait was similar to Castform’s. Right now, they were in their normal appearance. Under Sunny Weather, they would become much more beautiful, though that was not what Terrance cared about…
The most important thing was that the Pokémon with the top-tier vocal talent he had been searching for was right in front of him!
“Wait a second. If I remember correctly, their timidity seems to be an act… Mr. Yoshi told me that they love using fragrances with paralysis effects and flute sounds with hypnotic effects to drive away other creatures.”
