PC Chapter 953 Premise for Controlling the Z-Move

Previous ChapterNext Chapter

Because of the warnings from Xerneas and the four island guardian deities, Terrance did not dare use his Z Ring unless absolutely necessary. Unknown costs were always a cause for concern.

Before the Z Ring had been strengthened by the four island guardian deities, when he and Altaria used a Z Move together, they could already use natural energy to boost Altaria’s strength by 50%. After the enhancement, Terrance was certain that the change in Altaria’s strength would become even more outrageous.

As for the price of that enhancement, it was his own stamina and psychic power.

Having already endured the cost of a Z Move once, Terrance naturally knew where his limits lay. Abusing Z Moves was practically gambling with his life. He had no intention of dying young.

Altaria had undergone lightning tempering, greatly increasing the toughness of its body, and it also possessed life energy capable of repairing its body, so perhaps it could withstand that level of enhancement. But Terrance was different. He had no highly efficient method of recovering stamina and psychic power.

If he, the Trainer, passed out after using a Z Move, that would be far too embarrassing.

“If only I had the physique of Elite Four Bruno and the psychic power of Sabrina, I wouldn’t have to be this cautious about using Z Moves.”

As Terrance pondered, he continued flipping through information related to Aura power.

Unlike psychic power, Aura power did not have a very clear training method, and its system was incomplete. However, one thing was certain: Aura power had some kind of connection with physique.

“Found it.”

As Terrance dug deeper into his search, he discovered with delight that by combining Aura power with certain martial arts, one could better bring out the value of those martial arts.

This method was not using martial arts to train Aura power, but using Aura power to train martial arts.

In the eyes of some martial artists, Aura power was a superior aid for training compared to rare medicinal herbs or high-grade meals.

Contained within this was extremely complex medical knowledge regarding the structure of the human body. Modern scientific systems had also used rigorous knowledge to explain the wonderful effects of combining martial arts with Aura on enhancing physique. The more Terrance read, the more delighted he became.

No matter what the principle was, as long as it could improve his physique, that was enough. Terrance did not ask for much. Even if the lofty Aura power could only serve as a supporting role for martial arts, he did not care.

For psychic power, he could rely on the meditation method. For stamina, he could only depend on martial arts training. These two directions of improvement were the key to his ability to wield Z Moves in the future. He could neither be careless nor slack off in his training.

“As expected of information accessible only to the Elite Four. Just this kind of obscure knowledge alone has benefited me immensely.”

“No matter the cost, I have to improve my psychic power and stamina.”

“As long as I can control Z Moves and let Altaria borrow the power of the fairy army to enhance its strength by even 50%, it would be enough to crush a large organization.”

“If its strength could double, and it coordinated with the other Pokémon, it might even be able to suppress Legendary Pokémon.”

Terrance stared intently at the images on the virtual screen. Team Magma and Team Aqua had stolen the Red Orb and Blue Orb, and their objective was obvious—they wanted to control the two Legendary Pokémon, Groudon and Kyogre. If those people succeeded, the entirety of Hoenn would inevitably be plunged into disaster.

At that moment, conventional methods would find it extremely difficult to suppress those two Legendary Pokémon. To make them regain their senses and break free from the control of those lawbreakers would not be easy even for Top Trainers. But if Altaria could perfectly master Z Moves by then, perhaps it could contend against the two Legendary Pokémon before their Primal Reversion and shatter the ambitions of Team Magma and Team Aqua.

“Aura power can improve the efficiency of training martial arts. With the Aura Gloves made by Albus, I can now initially grasp Aura power, but I still can’t use Telepathy or sense other people’s Aura like he did before… I’m only at the most basic stage of usage, let alone condensing Aura to release Aura Sphere.”

“It seems Aura power can currently only serve as an auxiliary ability for improving my physique. But speaking of which, I’ve already explored most of the simplified martial arts Master Bruno gave me. Maybe I can collect some other martial arts? Or perhaps combine them with Aura power myself and deduce an optimal method for improving physique…”

With the Rotom Pokédex serving as a supercomputer assistant, as long as he input information about his body structure, Aura power, and various martial arts into it, perhaps it really could deduce a method suited for Terrance to improve his physique.

After coming up with this idea, Terrance immediately thought of his meditation method.

Clearly, just like the martial arts, the meditation method Master Victor had found for him was not some advanced technique either. It was only a very basic version, already unsuitable for the current Terrance, whose psychic power had become tangible.

As for where to find a more suitable method for training psychic power, Terrance thought of several people.

Sabrina, Caitlin, and Olympia—the three most powerful Psychics in Terrance’s impression.

Several days later, Terrance successfully gathered several different martial arts techniques.

These were all secret arts passed down through ancient schools. In ancient times, they would have been extremely precious treasures, but now they had all declined, with very few people willing to practice them.

A human could spend decades training in martial arts and still be unable to defeat a Fighting-type Pokémon trained by a Trainer for just one month. In modern society, where people had enough to eat and drink and society was stable, basically no one was willing to endure that kind of hardship anymore. Rather than seeking power personally, it was far more practical to become a Trainer.

Combining these martial arts with Aura power, Terrance had the Rotom Pokédex run calculations, wanting to see whether the two had the possibility of integrating with each other.

This deduction process lasted three days.

After spending three days calculating, the Rotom Pokédex finally woke up groggily.

“Still not possible, Roto…”

“Not possible?” Terrance frowned.

After the Rotom Pokédex explained, Terrance understood where it had gotten stuck. It still had far too little information regarding Aura power, so every time the calculations reached a critical point, it became difficult to continue.

After discovering this problem, Terrance began paying attention to more information regarding Aura, and had even planned to directly ask Albus for knowledge about using Aura. However, as Terrance investigated further, he suddenly discovered information about a sealed incident from Cameran Palace.

Some time ago, during a Pokémon battle tournament and festival held by Cameran Palace to honor the Hero Aaron, a Trainer named Ash had won the tournament and been granted the title “Aura Hero,” as well as the right to wield the “Staff of the Hero” during the festival and take on the role of the hero.

Immediately afterward, an accident occurred during the ceremony. A Lucario suddenly emerged from the Staff of the Hero, suspected to be the apprentice of the hero Aaron from a thousand years ago.

At the time, many people had witnessed the scene, but the information was quickly sealed away. If Terrance had not been using the Elite Four’s exclusive network and searched through nearly every keyword related to Aura, it would have been difficult for him to discover this information at all.
