LPPD Chapter 54 The Pokémon on the Seventh Floor

Still shaken from the scare, Lu Li quickly calmed himself and ran through all the things that had been going well lately in his mind. Only after finally calming his emotions did he hurry to catch up with Indeedee.

Indeedee, who was leading the way ahead, sensed the positive emotions coming from Lu Li, and its steps became even lighter.

That was exactly why it liked spending time with Lu Li. Every time it was with him, it got to enjoy something good.

“That b*stard Spearow. If it hadn’t scared Lu Li, Lu Li would definitely be even happier right now.” Indeedee couldn’t help blaming Spearow in its heart.

Indeedee had always gone out to gather ingredients by itself, and its cooking skills were quite good as well. In Lu Li’s opinion, the meals it made were the most delicious and perfectly suited to his tastes out of anything he had ever eaten.

Whether desserts or other dishes, the only slight pity was that the feast Indeedee prepared leaned somewhat toward Western cuisine.

After Lu Li had eaten and drunk his fill, Indeedee once again harvested a large wave of positive emotions from him.

It was no exaggeration to say that the positive emotions overflowing from Lu Li at this moment were almost equal to those of everyone in the hotel combined.

There was some good news, though. The people in the hotel were producing more and more positive emotions. They were no longer as afraid of Indeedee as they had been before.

That gave Indeedee, who was basically raising them, quite a sense of accomplishment.

Lu Li didn’t see Mime Jr. anywhere in the hotel. He had no idea whether Indeedee had driven it away or whether it was still staying on the second floor.

When it was time for him to leave, Indeedee personally escorted him to the emergency exit. After what had happened with Spearow, it was afraid Lu Li might get attacked by another wild Pokémon on the way back.

Just as Lu Li returned to the camp, he happened to run into Zhao Zhu and the others.

Looking listless and deathly pale, Zhao Zhu used the last of his strength to stagger over and collapse at Lu Li’s feet the moment he recognized him.

“My lord, spare me!”

“I really can’t take it anymore. If this keeps up, I’m going to die. I’m going to die!”

Snot and tears streamed down Zhao Zhu’s face as he lay on the ground and wailed.

Lu Li kicked him away with a look of disgust, because the guy had nearly wiped snot onto his pants.

Lu Li wasn’t surprised that Zhao Zhu had ended up in such a miserable state. There was a punishment known as solitary confinement, and what Zhao Zhu and the others were experiencing was definitely even worse than that.

Because while they were with Mimikyu, not only did Zhao Zhu and the others get no food, they couldn’t even drink water, and they couldn’t move either.

Even in ancient times, that would have counted as top-tier punishment. It was only natural that Zhao Zhu couldn’t endure it.

But there were some things you couldn’t simply avoid doing just because you couldn’t bear them.

It was still the same question.

If you people didn’t go feed Mimikyu, were they supposed to send their own people from the camp instead?

“Hang in there for a few more days. When the time comes, I’ll catch a few companions and bring them back to help lighten your burden,” Lu Li comforted him considerately.

Hearing this, Zhao Zhu raised his head and stared at Lu Li with bloodshot eyes.

There was hatred in that gaze, but also longing.

He hated Lu Li, this demon who had come up with such a method to torment them, yet at the same time he desperately hoped Lu Li would keep his word and capture more people to share in this inhuman suffering.

“Hurry up and drag him away. If there’s a doctor in the camp, have them take a look at these people. They absolutely can’t be allowed to die,” Lu Li said to the two elderly men escorting Zhao Zhu.

After saying that, Lu Li headed straight toward his own residence.

One of the old men agreed, “Second Leader is right. These people absolutely can’t die. If they die, we’ll have to go be sacrifices again.”

The old man beside him nodded as well. “Then I’ll go get Old Li to come over and take a look at them.”

Zhao Zhu: “…”

Every time he was tied up there and unable to move, Zhao Zhu had thought about ending it all. But after enduring round after round of torment, he ultimately lost the courage to die.

Now, all he hoped was that Lu Li would capture more people and bring them back to the camp.

Zhao Zhu wasn’t worried that Lu Li wouldn’t be able to find enough “talent.” After all, in an apocalypse, there were definitely more bad people than good people.

After returning to his residence, Lu Li released Feebas.

That full-power Tackle had once again nearly drained Feebas’s stamina, so next, he needed to prepare food for Feebas.

Today, they had indeed been lucky that Feebas’s Tackle was powerful enough. Of course, even more important than that was the timing, as well as the fact that Spearow had been caught completely off guard.

“Little Beauty, you did great today. If it weren’t for you, I might’ve been eaten by Spearow,” Lu Li softly praised Feebas.

Feebas swayed its tail in the water. Its bright eyes no longer held the timidity they once had. After repelling Spearow once in a direct confrontation, Feebas had grown even more confident.

That was an excellent thing, because confidence might also be connected to Feebas’s evolution.

“That Tackle today was really powerful. You almost took Spearow out in one hit. Let’s keep working hard and try to train until you can use a Tackle as strong as the one you used today into your basic attack,” Lu Li continued encouraging Feebas.

Feebas nodded with supreme confidence, looking as though Lu Li could entrust his safety entirely to it.

Feebas had gotten overconfident, but Lu Li hadn’t.

Because Lu Li knew that although Feebas had seemingly repelled Spearow today, the main reason was still that it had caught Spearow off guard. Besides, Spearow hadn’t been seriously injured by that one attack. At most, it had only suffered a minor injury.

After preparing Feebas’s exclusive “nutrient solution,” Lu Li placed it into the washbasin filled with the special solution.

An hour later.

After resting enough, one person and one pet busied themselves once again.

Training! More goddamn training!

Feebas was full of fighting spirit, and unusually proactive and cooperative.

Pokémon were naturally combative creatures to begin with, and Lu Li had completely awakened the combative nature buried deep within Feebas.

After dinner that evening, everyone gathered in the meeting room once again.

This time, the atmosphere in the room was rather heavy.

That was because their exploration of the seventh floor had not gone smoothly.

Jun Shutong announced with a grave expression, “As of now, our people have encountered four different kinds of demon beasts on the seventh floor.”

Lu Li asked curiously, “Can you describe what they look like?”

“The most dangerous one is a demon beast that looks somewhat like a mantis. The huge scythes on both sides of its body can practically slice through iron like mud. Of the team that encountered that demon beast, only one person survived.”

After hearing Jun Shutong’s description, Lu Li silently thought, “Scyther.”

“Next is a strange bird-like demon beast. Its entire body seems to be forged from steel, and it looks somewhat like a primitive bird.”

“Skarmory,” Lu Li silently added in his mind.

“There’s also a demon beast shaped like a scorpion, with a body covered in alternating blue and purple.”

“Skorupi.” Lu Li sighed inwardly.

The demon beasts Jun Shutong had described were all far too dangerous. Whether it was Scyther or Skarmory, neither was something they could afford to provoke right now.

Jun Shutong added, “That scorpion demon beast is poisonous.”

“The last one is a plant demon beast that looks somewhat like a mangosteen. It’s actually the least dangerous of the four. Most of the people who accidentally encountered it managed to survive,” Jun Shutong finally explained.

“Bounsweet?”

Lu Li raised an eyebrow.

He hadn’t expected there to be a Bounsweet living on the seventh floor as well.
