LPPD Chapter 49 An Extremely Terrifying Tackle

Previous ChapterNext Chapter

After Lu Li gave it some pointers, Feebas’s eyes lit up.

It seemed to have grasped something.

Getting serious, Feebas returned to the water tank. After diving underwater, it suddenly exerted force, its entire body shooting toward the wall in front of it like a cannonball.

Boom!

A tremendous crash rang out as Feebas’s Tackle instantly smashed straight through the solid wall.

Seeing this, Lu Li was so excited he could barely contain himself.

This was the power he had longed for!

This was the extraordinary power every boy yearned for!

“Wait!”

In the middle of his excitement, Lu Li suddenly snapped back to his senses. The excitement on his face instantly turned into fear and worry.

Ignoring the dust filling the air, Lu Li hurriedly searched through the rubble for Feebas.

“Little Beauty! Where are you?” Lu Li shouted in panic as he pushed aside chunks of broken concrete.

Lu Li soon found Feebas among the concrete debris. Although Feebas was covered in dust, its vitality was still strong, and it looked nothing like it was in any danger of dying.

“Are you okay?” Lu Li asked nervously as he held Feebas in his hands.

Feebas blinked, then blew out a breath, spitting the dust from its mouth.

Seeing this, Lu Li also breathed a sigh of relief and quickly put Feebas back into the water.

There didn’t seem to be anything seriously wrong with Feebas externally. It didn’t have a single wound.

As for internal injuries, Lu Li couldn’t tell, but after carefully examining Feebas’s scales, he discovered that the little fellow hadn’t even lost a single one.

Seeing this, Lu Li finally relaxed.

Feebas lay in the fish tank like a salted fish, its mouth opening and closing, looking completely drained.

With Feebas’s current stamina and energy, being able to barely manage a single Tackle was already quite impressive.

“I still haven’t raised it well enough.” Lu Li felt somewhat guilty.

Feebas had learned Tackle, but its stamina and energy couldn’t keep up.

It wasn’t that Feebas hadn’t trained. Rather, the training conditions simply couldn’t keep up. If the resources in this world were as abundant as those in the Pokémon world, he could definitely think of many ways to improve Feebas’s stamina and energy.

Lu Li thought of Indeedee again.

Indeedee’s main source of energy was emotional energy. Through his research over the past few days, Lu Li had also discovered that a Pokémon’s stamina and energy could be converted into one another.

In other words, Indeedee already had little need for Berries. Lu Li secretly wondered whether he could get more Berries from Indeedee and give them to Feebas.

Feebas really needed Berries far too much.

When a Pokémon exhausted its stamina, the best way to recover was to eat and replenish its strength.

Lu Li was just about to prepare another protein powder soak for Feebas when he heard a burst of hurried footsteps outside the door.

“Lu Li, are you okay?” Jun Shutong’s voice came from outside.

Lu Li put Feebas into the fish tank, then turned around to deal with Jun Shutong.

“Sister Jun, why did you come over?” Lu Li asked, pretending to be confused.

Jun Shutong rolled her eyes at Lu Li and complained softly, “What do you think? There was suddenly such a huge commotion over here. How could I not come take a look?”

“What happened? Anyone who didn’t know better would think you were tearing the place apart.” As Jun Shutong spoke, her gaze shifted toward the wall that had already been smashed through.

“I was just doing a few small experiments. There’s no problem now.” Lu Li tried to brush the matter aside.

“You’re telling me this is a small experiment? And that there’s no problem?” Jun Shutong said, even pointing at the wall that had been utterly wrecked.

“There really isn’t.” Right now, Lu Li only wanted to send Jun Shutong away as quickly as possible so he could feed Feebas.

Seeing that Lu Li was still stubbornly denying it, Jun Shutong said with certainty, “That demon beast caused this, didn’t it? That fish demon beast!”

Hearing this, Lu Li’s expression stiffened. He hadn’t expected Jun Shutong to guess it immediately.

Lu Li helplessly nodded. “Yes.”

Seeing Lu Li admit it, Jun Shutong nodded in satisfaction, then asked thoughtfully, “So that demon beast attacked you just now?”

“No, no.”

Lu Li hurriedly waved his hands in denial.

He absolutely couldn’t let Feebas take the blame for this. Otherwise, Jun Shutong would definitely order him to get rid of Feebas.

Of course, Jun Shutong couldn’t possibly believe Lu Li’s explanation. People were naturally prone to preconceived notions. In her understanding, all demon beasts were dangerous, and Feebas was naturally no exception. Now that a perfectly good wall had ended up like this, the culprit had to be Feebas.

“I told you, demon beasts are extremely dangerous creatures,” Jun Shutong said helplessly.

She was determined to persuade Lu Li to give up researching demon beasts. At the very least, he absolutely could not continue keeping this demon beast by his side. It was simply too dangerous.

Just looking at the miserable state of that wall was enough to understand. Lu Li had been lucky today and narrowly avoided disaster, but what if he failed to dodge next time?

The more she thought about it, the more worried Jun Shutong became.

Seeing that Jun Shutong had already put it this way, Lu Li knew he had to show her something convincing. Otherwise, it would be difficult to persuade her.

“Feebas really didn’t do this on purpose. I was training it just now, and it’s already very obedient,” Lu Li argued.

Jun Shutong, who had originally been firmly opposed, froze when she heard this.

“Training? Obedient?” Jun Shutong couldn’t help repeating those two words.

Lu Li nodded solemnly.

The last time she had heard those two words was at a police dog training base. Back then, she had also thought about adopting a police dog, but later gave up on the idea for various reasons.

She had regretted it for a long time afterward, but now she had actually heard those two words here, and they were being used to describe a demon beast.

What were demon beasts?

They were the culprits that had brought about the apocalypse.

Jun Shutong didn’t voice her doubts, but disbelief was written all over her face.

Seeing this, Lu Li hurriedly called out to Feebas in the fish tank, “Little Beauty, get up and move around a little. Prove the bond between us to her!”

Feebas, already rather tired, reluctantly moved a little after hearing him.

“Little Beauty just used an extremely powerful move and has already exhausted its stamina. If you still don’t believe me, then once it recovers, I’ll definitely let you see with your own eyes that everything I said is true.”

Lu Li looked at Jun Shutong with a solemn expression, his tone firm and unquestionable.

If Jun Shutong truly could not tolerate Feebas, then he would have no choice but to either abandon this camp or simply make a move and seize control.

There was no way he would give up Feebas. In his heart, Feebas was even more important than Jun Shutong.

Lu Li admitted that he did indeed admire Jun Shutong, but admiration was admiration. Asking him to give up power was impossible.

Jun Shutong frowned slightly and suspiciously examined the unusually cooperative Feebas.

“Could demon beasts really be tamed?” Jun Shutong muttered inwardly.

Jun Shutong asked again, “So this wall really was destroyed by this demon beast?”

Lu Li nodded.

Jun Shutong stared deeply at Feebas in the fish tank. Wariness and fear were hidden in her eyes, along with a trace of yearning and hope that even she herself had not noticed.

Jun Shutong sighed sincerely, “Demon beasts really are terrifying creatures. Even a demon beast that looks useless can possess such frightening destructive power.”
