Although Trunks remained in the future timeline, all the troublesome matters had already been resolved, and in the end, things were developing in a good direction.
Bulma prepared a celebratory feast, intending to properly reward everyone.
Unfortunately, Future Trunks wasn’t here.
The servants continuously carried delicious dishes out from the kitchen.
Beerus and Whis had long since become impatient.
As big eaters, Goku and Vegeta also seemed to have completely forgotten just how miserably they had been beaten in the future timeline, immediately beginning to devour the food like a strong wind sweeping away clouds.
……
Time flew by.
In the blink of an eye, roughly three months had passed since Talot resolved the Black incident in the future timeline.
During these three months, everything had been incomparably peaceful.
Everyone returned to their daily lives.
Of course, although Earth remained peaceful during this period, some interesting things still happened.
For example, Goku asked Whis to hire Universe 6’s assassin, Hit, to assassinate him. As a result, he nearly got beaten to death for real. Fortunately, he had kept a trick in reserve and managed to save himself in time.
In the end, Goku naturally deciphered Hit’s techniques as an assassin and confessed that he had been the one who hired Hit to assassinate him.
From then on, Hit’s understanding of Goku was refreshed once again, and before they knew it, a rather unusual friendship had also formed between the two.
Aside from that, Universe 6 and Universe 7 once again held a competition.
Only this time, the competition wasn’t a martial arts tournament, but a baseball game.
Baseball teams led by the Gods of Destruction of the two universes engaged in a baseball game that completely exceeded common sense.
Talot was also present when the game began, though he had only come with the mindset of watching a good show.
Of everyone present who was playing baseball, none of them knew anything about the rules of baseball. Only Yamcha was familiar with them.
He had originally thought this would be a match where he could show off his skills and look cool in front of the Gods of Destruction, but the chaotic madness that followed directly made Yamcha question his life.
First, Goku transformed into Super Saiyan Blue Evolved and threw the baseball, nearly killing his own son, Son Gohan, in the name of righteousness.
Then came the absurd antics of using Sky Hovering Art to seize the baseball and firing energy blasts to alter the baseball’s position.
The rules of baseball, in front of these people, were toyed with until they could hardly even be called rules anymore.
The final deciding round was even more outrageous.
Vegeta directly brought out his ultimate move, Final Flash, to assist the baseball in bombarding Goku, nearly blowing up the entire Earth.
Throughout the whole thing, Talot acted purely as a spectator enjoying the show, desperately holding back his laughter.
Sometimes, appropriately relaxing and watching an amusing spectacle like this was also a different kind of training for him.
After the baseball game ended, everyone’s lives once again returned to normal.
Goku was either training or on his way to training. At present, he had trained his Super Saiyan Blue Evolved to its absolute peak, and he wasn’t far from reaching Super Saiyan Blue 3.
After all, he even had Talot’s guidance. If he still hadn’t made any progress, then he would truly be trash.
As Goku’s rival, Vegeta naturally wasn’t inferior in the slightest, likewise training Super Saiyan Blue Evolved to its absolute peak state.
As for Talot, he remained in this timeline according to his agreement with the Grand Priest.
Simply put, Talot had more or less guessed the Grand Priest’s intention in making him stay.
Although it hadn’t happened yet, it was about to.
……
On this day.
Talot was attempting to further break through his own limits and truly master Ultra Instinct.
However, reality was far crueler than he had imagined.
Having already mastered Ultra Ego, the difficulty of mastering Ultra Instinct as well was far beyond that of mastering a single divine technique.
Moreover, these were two mutually conflicting divine techniques. No matter how heaven-defying Talot’s talent was, simultaneously controlling Ultra Instinct and Ultra Ego still required the accumulation of time, along with external factors and an opportunity.
If such an opportunity didn’t appear, Talot would likely remain hovering at this level, continuously accumulating his own power through time, before finally relying on that accumulation to achieve a breakthrough several years, or even more than a decade, into the future.
“Whew~!” Talot, who was in the middle of training, suddenly let out a long breath.
Around his body, a white God Ki aura was rising.
This scorching God Ki lingered around his body like droplets of water. This form was precisely Ultra Instinct Sign.
“No matter how hard I try, even when I immerse myself in near-selfless, in-depth study, I’ve only managed to train Ultra Instinct to the Sign stage. If I want to reach the Perfected stage within a short period of time, I’m afraid that’s impossible,” Talot muttered to himself.
Although he was filled with confidence in his own potential, this feeling of being unable to advance even a single step also made Talot feel tremendous pressure.
If he wanted to break through, he needed sufficient opportunity, or stimulation from an overwhelmingly powerful external force.
Moreover, that external force had to be absolutely pure, absolutely powerful mortal power, without the slightest trace of divine power mixed into it.
[Could it be that only he can help me break through?] Talot thought of a certain ridiculously powerful bald powerhouse.
During the Tournament of Power in the original work, Universe 11’s strongest warrior, Jiren the Gray, displayed absolutely formidable mortal power.
That power amazed even the gods. Even God of Destruction Beerus praised it highly.
Talot focused his target on Jiren.
If he could fight Jiren, perhaps he could comprehend something from him and thereby achieve a further breakthrough.
It might even trigger a chain reaction and allow him to break through to Super Saiyan 5!
But this was only speculation.
After all, Jiren’s strength, by a conservative estimate, was only around the Tenth Dimension. At the absolute limit, he would only be at the peak of the Eleventh Dimension.
Even an Eleventh-Dimensional existence as powerful as Ultimate Zamasu had been killed by him in a single move. A mere Jiren the Gray could, at most, only play around with him in a fight.
Unless some astonishing change had occurred in this timeline that caused Jiren’s strength to explosively increase.
Making him even stronger than he was in the original work!
But for now, these things could only remain thoughts. Unless the Tournament of Power began, if he wanted to meet Jiren, he would have no choice but to personally make a trip to Universe 11.
Whether he could go to Universe 11 was another matter. Even if he did, he might still be driven out. Although he had a residence permit granted by the Grand Priest, he was not, after all, someone from Universe 11.
Given the current situation, he could only let things take their natural course and wait for the Tournament of Power to be held.
And judging by the time, it should be about time.
Just as Talot’s thoughts were drifting, ripples suddenly spread through space.
After sensing the abnormality in the space behind him, Talot turned around to look.
The newcomer was none other than Goku.
