At this moment, in a suburban park in South City.
The three Androids, wandering aimlessly through the human metropolis, had happened to stop there for the time being.
They had slept for far too long, and the pace of modern society’s development was so rapid that it left them feeling out of place. They wanted to integrate into it, yet they didn’t fit in. Fully adapting would require a long period of adjustment.
Just as the three were preparing to set off for the next town, a golden ray of light descended from the sky and landed in a corner of the park.
All three of their gazes were drawn to it. As they approached, 18 was the first to see the glowing beams.
It was an orange sphere with seven orange five-pointed stars embedded inside.
That sphere was none other than the Seven-Star Dragon Ball.
“This ball… looks pretty special,” 18 said as she bent down, picked up the Seven-Star Dragon Ball, and carefully examined it in her hand.
Her intuition told her that this bead was no ordinary object.
17 was also looking at it and was just about to speak when—
Whoosh~~!!
A sudden sound of something cutting through the air rang out in front of them.
Talot appeared right before them.
The few of them stared at each other, wide-eyed.
“It’s you!” 17 said with a face full of vigilance. 16 appeared calm on the surface, but in reality, he had already prepared for the worst.
“So it’s the three of you. What a coincidence,” Talot remarked with slight surprise.
He had used Instant Transmission based on the Dragon Ball’s location to arrive here. He hadn’t expected to run into 18 and the others. It really was quite a coincidence.
Most importantly, the Dragon Ball was currently in 18’s hand.
18 blinked her beautiful eyes. Though she was extremely surprised by Talot’s sudden appearance, she noticed that his gaze was fixed on the bead in her hand.
Before she could ask anything, Talot spoke frankly: “Could you give me the Dragon Ball in your hand?”
“So this thing is called a Dragon Ball? I knew this bead wasn’t ordinary,” 18 said as she looked at the Seven-Star Dragon Ball in her hand.
Talot had come here not for them, but for the Dragon Ball.
Although she didn’t know exactly what a Dragon Ball was, since it was in her possession now, that changed things.
Talot might be powerful, but surely he couldn’t just take it by force, could he?
She was the one who found it first.
“So what exactly does this Dragon Ball do, for someone as important as you to come looking for it?” 18 asked boldly.
These words made 16 and 17 even more cautious.
They were afraid that Talot would become angry because 18 was asking too many questions.
After all, his strength absolutely surpassed theirs.
In response to 18’s question, Talot did not avoid the topic. He simply explained the origin and function of the Dragon Balls.
Gathering all seven Dragon Balls would allow one to summon Shenron and make a wish. He was currently searching for the Dragon Balls in order to conduct a test.
Along the way, he naturally mentioned that the former Kami had fused with Piccolo, and that the Dragon Balls had therefore been restored by the new Kami.
The moment Piccolo was mentioned, the three quickly recalled their previous encounter with him and brought it up.
Talot was surprised that Piccolo had actually gone looking for them.
That guy had really done something like that.
Whether it was good or bad was hard to say.
“So gathering all seven Dragon Balls lets you make a wish? I never imagined something this magical existed in the world,” 18 said, deeply shocked after learning the Dragon Balls’ function.
17 felt the same.
As for 16, information about the Dragon Balls existed in his database, so he already knew. He simply hadn’t had the chance to say anything before Talot appeared.
“Now, can you give it to me? Keeping that Dragon Ball by itself is useless anyway,” Talot said. Suddenly thinking of something, he added, “After gathering all seven Dragon Balls, Shenron can grant at least one wish. I remember Dr. Gero installed super bombs inside your bodies. You can use this opportunity to make a wish and have Shenron remove the bombs for you.”
The moment those words were spoken, all three were stunned.
For a moment, they couldn’t understand why Talot would give them an opportunity to make a wish.
“Aren’t you afraid we’ll do something reckless?” 17 asked.
Talot shook his head slightly.
“Even if you did something reckless, how far could you really go? Times are constantly changing. I can tell you clearly that the others may not be able to defeat you right now, but in a few days, your strength won’t amount to much in front of them.”
A power level of merely eight or nine hundred million was all it was.
Even if 16’s actual power level exceeded one billion, under Talot’s guidance, all the warriors of this timeline would become stronger.
By then, their strength would be insignificant.
“Isn’t that a bit exaggerated? We may not be able to beat you, but—” 18 had not even finished speaking before Talot interrupted her.
“Actually, Piccolo right now already has the strength to defeat both you and 17.”
17 and 18 found Talot’s blunt statement impossible to believe.
Before they could refute him, 16 spoke: “What he says is true. The data I’ve analyzed does not lie. The two of you are indeed no match for the fused Piccolo anymore.”
17 and 18 fell silent.
For a moment, it felt as though their entire worldview had collapsed.
Had Talot not said it himself, they truly would have found it hard to accept.
At the very least, they would need to fight Piccolo first before being willing to admit it.
“Take the Dragon Ball. But what you said isn’t a lie, right? About helping us… remove the bombs,” 18 said after thinking for a moment, handing the Dragon Ball to Talot.
Talot nodded: “Of course. It’s only a small matter. The prerequisite is that you don’t cause trouble on Earth in the future… I assume you won’t be like the 17 and 18 from Trunks’s future timeline, slaughtering innocent people simply to satisfy your own desires.”
Upon hearing Talot mention Trunks’s future, 17 and 18 exchanged a glance.
“We don’t even know why the future turned out that way. At the very least, my brother and I have never thought about destroying Earth,” 18 said somewhat unhappily. To them, the whole thing felt completely absurd.
Although 17 looked cold, he wasn’t the type who enjoyed killing.
“I think it’s necessary for us to talk with that Future Trunks and learn more about our counterparts from the future timeline,” 17 said.
“In that case, why not come with me? We’ll be making the wish soon anyway. You can also talk with Trunks while we’re at it. As for 16, your target is Goku, right? That kid will be heading to the Lookout before long. When the time comes, you can settle your karma and begin a new life,” Talot suggested.
With those words from Talot, the three exchanged looks and made their decision.
They did not doubt Talot. After all, he possessed more than enough power to kill them instantly. There was no need for him to resort to schemes.
After obtaining their agreement, Talot took them along using Instant Transmission to search for the remaining Dragon Balls.
Now that they had a new goal, the three Androids were no longer as directionless as before. In any case, having something to do gave them motivation once again.
