“Renamed yourself Piccolo, have you? That’s good too. Farewell to the past, and welcome a new future.” Talot smiled calmly, understanding Piccolo’s thoughts.
Having become whole once more, this was a very good beginning.
Right after that, Piccolo revealed the reason he had come to see Talot.
Now that he had regained his complete body, he hoped Talot could take him to Planet Namek. He wanted to find a new path and begin his training anew.
Talot had no reason to refuse such a request and agreed immediately.
As the two conversed, Bulma, standing nearby, seemed to think of something.
“Wait a second. Yesterday, I heard you talking about that monster called Cell. It sounds like he killed quite a lot of humans. Now that Piccolo and Kami have merged into one, can the Dragon Balls still be used?” Bulma asked the crucial question.
The question made Piccolo realize belatedly that perhaps his fusion had happened too early.
Talot also came to a sudden realization. He had completely overlooked that detail.
“I’m very sorry. It was my oversight. The Dragon Balls have already turned to stone due to my fusion with Kami,” Piccolo said apologetically.
He had failed to think things through. He had known all along that Cell was going around absorbing humans. He should have gathered the Dragon Balls and revived all those who had died before merging with Kami.
“You can’t really blame yourself. Nobody is perfect. Even gods make mistakes. I didn’t think of it either. It seems that when we go to Namek, we’ll have to borrow their Dragon Balls. While we’re there, we can also bring back a Namekian to serve as Earth’s new Kami,” Talot said.
The development of events was not too different from the original work, except this time they would be the ones going to Namek.
“Yeah, that really is a good idea.” Piccolo nodded in agreement.
Although they had known each other only a short time, Piccolo trusted Talot greatly.
Just as the two reached an agreement and were about to set off, Bulma interrupted again.
“Wait! Don’t leave me behind. I’m coming too.”
Since Bulma volunteered, Talot did not refuse. If she wanted to come along, then she could come along.
To someone who had mastered the power of space, one extra person made little difference.
“I’ll locate the coordinates of this world’s Namek first. Give me a moment,” Talot said before expanding his Ki Sense, using Earth as the center and spreading it outward in every direction.
His vast spirit energy quickly swept across the milky way.
The auras of countless living beings poured into Talot’s mind like a raging torrent, but none of them were the familiar Ki of the Namekians he knew.
Under the watchful eyes of Piccolo, Bulma, and Future Trunks, quite some time passed.
At last, Talot found the coordinates of New Namek within the boundless universe.
“Found it. Let’s go.”
The moment those words left his mouth, invisible power of space spread from Talot, enveloping Bulma and Piccolo. In the blink of an eye, the three vanished from where they stood.
Future Trunks did not go with them.
He watched the three depart, a complicated look flashing across his eyes.
He said nothing. He had assumed he would be taken along, only to be completely ignored.
…
On Namek.
Since arriving on this brand-new planet, the simple and kind-hearted Namekians had returned to their former way of life, cultivating the land day after day and improving the planet’s environment.
At the same time, they had not become complacent or allowed the appearance of peace to deceive them.
Only after experiencing the hellish despair itself did they truly understand how precious peace was.
Although this new Namek was located in a remote region of the universe that few paid attention to, nobody knew whether enemies might invade in the future.
If they wished to preserve their current way of life, powerful warriors were absolutely necessary. This was the conclusion they had reached after surviving the Frieza catastrophe.
Namek had to grow stronger, or gain the protection of powerful warriors.
As a result, besides their daily farming, the other Namekians also trained regularly to increase their strength.
At that moment, a disturbance appeared in space itself.
Talot, Piccolo, and Bulma arrived from distant Earth, appearing near the residence of the current Grand Elder.
Their sudden appearance left the surrounding Namekians utterly stunned.
Although they did not recognize Talot, they recognized Piccolo and Bulma. After all, when Namek had been destroyed years ago, they had spent a considerable amount of time living at Bulma’s home.
The hospitable Namekians immediately crowded around them, greeting Bulma and Piccolo one after another.
At that moment, the Grand Elder inside the residence also sensed something unusual. He stepped outside, and upon seeing Bulma and Piccolo, his face lit up with joy as he hurried forward to greet them.
Although several years had passed since they last met, the Namekians had never forgotten the kindness they received while living at Bulma’s home back then.
After meeting the Grand Elder, Bulma quickly explained the purpose of their visit.
They needed to borrow Namek’s Dragon Balls to revive the people who had died on Earth, and they also hoped to bring an outstanding Namekian back to Earth to serve as the new Kami.
After learning of their intentions, a gleam flashed through the Grand Elder’s eyes. To them, this was a deal with nothing but benefits.
By sending an outstanding Namekian descendant to Earth to serve as Kami, if Namek ever faced a crisis they could not handle in the future, they could relay information through their fellow Namekian on Earth and seek assistance.
“I understand. As for someone to take on the position of Kami on Earth, I do have a very suitable candidate in mind. You should all know him,” the Grand Elder said before shifting his gaze toward a spot behind him.
“Dende, come here,” the Grand Elder called.
Upon hearing the summons, Dende immediately stepped forward and politely approached Talot, Piccolo, and Bulma.
“Dende? If it’s him, then he would indeed make a good Kami,” Piccolo said happily when he saw Dende.
Ever since assimilating Nail, his feelings toward Dende had become much like those of an older brother toward a younger brother.
Pure-hearted and kind, Dende was the ideal choice to become Kami.
“I’m very happy to see you all again, Uncle Piccolo, Sister Bulma, and this uncle,” Dende greeted them politely.
“It’s been years, and you’re still just as well-behaved and thoughtful as ever, Dende.” Bulma’s face was full of smiles; she was no stranger to Dende.
After all, they had spent plenty of time together back then, and Dende had helped her on numerous occasions.
Seeing this, Talot merely smiled without saying anything.
“Dende, my name is Piccolo now. From now on, you can call me Uncle Piccolo,” Piccolo reminded him.
“I understand, Uncle Piccolo,” Dende nodded and replied.
“Dende is an outstanding descendant of the Dragon Clan. I believe he can fulfill the role of Kami well. Perhaps he may even be able to upgrade Earth’s Dragon Balls,” the Grand Elder said confidently.
As for Dende, he was actually very excited about the prospect of going to Earth.
He missed two friends he had not seen for a long time—Krillin and Son Gohan.
And just like that, the candidate for Earth’s Kami had been decided.
Next came the Dragon Ball wish.
