Thunder Bagua is his technique; Yamato couldn’t have learned it if he hadn’t deliberately taught her. There’s a difference between simply taking beatings and being fed techniques.
Okuchi no Makami devil fruit is the same. Though Yamato claimed she accidentally ate it and didn’t want the fruit herself, it’s an extremely rare Mythical Zoan. Without Kaido’s approval, Yamato couldn’t have obtained it.
He’s not a good father; his abnormal childhood led to unconventional thinking. But in those circumstances, he still gave Yamato enough strength and to some extent respected her opinions.

World Government issues bounties to apprehend people, but to pirates, it’s a certification. Yamato’s bounty indicates her strength has been recognized by enemies, which, to Kaido, is the most appropriate way to demonstrate value.

Although Berry has inflated considerably since Kaido’s younger days, it’s still a huge amount. Crossing the hundred million mark in the first bounty is no easy feat, even Arceus’s first bounty was only 5000 Berries.
Since Yamato has reached a certain level that meets his expectations, he gave her his approval. He has learned Arceus’ philosophy of teaching through enjoyment, so he naturally gave her his stamp of approval.
However, Yamato still hadn’t realized it. Kaido’s praise was something completely unheard of for her. For a moment, she even felt touched, but this feeling lasted for less than a minute.
