A melodious song soon drifted from the stage. As the sound entered the audience’s ears and washed over their bodies, even Terrance felt a wave of comfort.
It was like a dream, drawing people into a beautiful, illusory dreamland to wander, bringing immense spiritual satisfaction.
Normally, listeners would have already fallen asleep at a time like this. While singing, Jigglypuff couldn’t help but open its eyes slightly and quickly glanced at the audience below.
To Jigglypuff’s delight, not a single listener had fallen asleep this time. Instead, every one of them wore expressions of enjoyment and happiness. Such expressions were undoubtedly the greatest recognition of its singing!!
Seeing this, Jigglypuff put in even more effort into its singing. As exaggerated as it sounded, this Jigglypuff sang continuously for two whole hours, and in the end… collapsed from exhaustion.
“It seems this is the first time it’s ever sung for so long. Although Jigglypuff looks exhausted, I could hear joy in its singing…”
“Yeah… once this Jigglypuff can control its singing voice on its own, it’ll gain even more audience,” Terrance murmured.
This time, the hypnotic waves contained within Jigglypuff’s singing had not affected them, mainly because of the pink mist covering the stage. The mist was Gardevoir’s Misty Terrain.
Since Misty Terrain was a Fairy-type move, Jigglypuff naturally felt very comfortable within it. In addition, the mist also possessed the ability to protect from status conditions.
Paralysis, Burn, Freeze, Poison, and even Hypnosis could all be resisted.
By incorporating the pink mist into the stage, not only had the stage become far more dazzling, but it had also given Jigglypuff a genuine opportunity to express itself.
“Gardevoir, are you alright?”
After Jigglypuff fell asleep from exhaustion, Terrance looked toward Gardevoir. Maintaining Misty Terrain for two hours was not a huge burden for Gardevoir, but it certainly wasn’t easy either.
“Gard~evoir…”
Gardevoir shook its head.
The hypnotic waves within Jigglypuff’s singing were simply too powerful. Although Misty Terrain had successfully blocked them, doing so had consumed far more of Gardevoir’s energy than usual. If the intensity of Jigglypuff’s Sing was several times stronger, even Ability like Soundproof or move like Misty Terrain might not be able to withstand it.
“So even you felt pressured by it…” Terrance nodded thoughtfully after receiving Gardevoir’s response.
Gardevoir was already a top-tier Pokémon and highly proficient in Fairy-type moves. Its mastery of Misty Terrain was especially high. Yet even so, it held Jigglypuff’s singing in extremely high regard. It seemed this Jigglypuff’s talent was even greater than he had imagined.
At this moment, Jigglypuff was fast asleep. After the staff cleaned up the stage, Hiyoko approached Terrance holding Jigglypuff’s marker pen.
“Mr. Terrance, I suspect this marker may be the key to why Jigglypuff’s singing is so special.”
“Let me take a look.” Terrance accepted the marker and quickly noticed the miniature voice changer attached to its tip, causing him to pause in surprise.
There was no way Jigglypuff had made this item itself. However, even if the marker pen did have the effect of amplifying Jigglypuff’s singing, it still could not overshadow Jigglypuff’s own talent. After all, even without the marker, Terrance could still sense the hypnotic waves hidden within its voice—something the other four Pokémon were completely incapable of doing.
“Rotom Pokédex, can you analyze the structure of this voice changer?”
“Understood, Roto!!”
Very quickly, Rotom Pokédex finished analyzing the voice changer’s structure. This miniature voice changer appeared to be one of the core components of a microphone. Its primary function was amplification, but its manufacturing method was extremely unique, unlike any singing items currently on the market. Not only could it amplify volume, it could even amplify Hypnotic waves. This discovery immediately caught Terrance’s attention. He was already considering equipping every member of the diva project with one.
After returning the marker to Hiyoko, Terrance slowly said, “Let’s wait. We’ll wait for Jigglypuff to wake up.”
…
After Jigglypuff woke up…
Its eyes immediately widened and it looked around, recalling what had happened earlier.
Not a single listener had been put to sleep by its singing. Instead, it had been the one that collapsed from exhaustion.
“Jiggly~puff!!”
Realizing this, Jigglypuff puffed up its cheeks in anger. It was angry at itself for not being able to keep singing for the audience for a very, very long time.
“Jigglypuff, you’re awake.”
After Jigglypuff woke up, Terrance entered the room and sat down beside it.
“Jigglypuff! Jigglypuff!” Upon seeing Terrance, Jigglypuff immediately narrowed its eyes and smiled.
Terrance, who had provided it with a stage, and Terrance, who had listened to its singing, had now earned Jigglypuff’s deepest friendship.
“As long as you’re happy.” Terrance smiled slightly and said, “So, what are your plans from here on?”
“Jiggly~puff?”
“What I mean is, would you like to join Eevee, Popplio, and the others? Form a group with them and hold concert tours all around the world, letting people everywhere hear your singing.”
Terrance slowly explained. Once Jigglypuff understood what he meant, its body froze for a moment as it began imagining itself performing concerts across the world…
It simply couldn’t refuse.
This proposal struck directly at the dream it desired most deep within its heart.
“Jigglypuff! Jigglypuff!” Without the slightest hesitation, Jigglypuff immediately made a gesture that clearly said, Please let me join!
…
Jigglypuff’s addition allowed the Pokémon Diva Idol Project to take shape, gathering the five members Hiyoko had originally envisioned.
“For an idol group, three, five, seven, or nine members are all excellent choices. As things stand, they already qualify to perform on stage. However, before that, Jigglypuff still needs to undergo some special training.”
Hiyoko said to Terrance.
“Mm. In that case, I’ll give you a training plan specifically for Jigglypuff’s singing. I’ll also leave Gardevoir here until Jigglypuff completely masters the Sing move,” Terrance nodded.
If Jigglypuff was clever enough, it might not take long at all, perhaps not even a few days.
“Thank you for the trouble.”
During this visit, Terrance assigned training tasks for all five Pokémon. The initial program covered three months of training. He had no intention of turning them into combat assets anytime soon. His plan was a long-term one. Perhaps it would take two or three years before these Pokémon could truly be put to use.
Before that time came, the place where these five Pokémon would display their charm would not be on the battlefield, but on the stage…
By the time Terrance left, the Pokémon had already become close friends. It was also Jigglypuff’s first time meeting so many like-minded companions, so it was especially happy.
“I’ll leave the rest to you.”
After entrusting the five Pokémon to Hiyoko, Terrance departed. The next time they met would probably be when the divas officially made their debut.
