PC Chapter 986 Training Base

Afterward, as the sun rose, Oldale Ruins underwent some more changes.

The people there discovered an underground cavern that led to subterranean water veins. Within them, the silhouettes of two Relicanth flashed by before disappearing.

After conducting a deeper investigation, Professor Alden found that many secrets were still hidden here. At the same time, he voiced his concerns:

“Although Oldale Ruins doesn’t contain what Team Magma is looking for, now that their members have been arrested here, Team Magma probably won’t let this matter go.”

“I’ve already considered that. As long as Team Magma doesn’t know whether what they want is actually here, they’ll continue paying attention to this place and may even make another move.” Terrance said: “From now on, a large number of personnel will be stationed around Oldale Ruins. We’ll do our best to ensure that if one person comes, one person stays behind; if a squad comes, the entire squad stays behind. Even if Maxie personally makes a move, with the Hoenn League’s security arrangements, we can respond quickly, provide support, and lock onto him.”

“Then I’m relieved.”

After resolving the matter of Oldale Ruins and leaving a bait for Team Magma’s boss Maxie in the process, Terrance met Ash and May once again.

“Are you two traveling together now?”

“I guess so.” Ash glanced at May and nodded.

“I understand.”

“Ash, take good care of May. As for me, I’ll be waiting for the two of you in Fallarbor Town.” Terrance smiled faintly.

Whether it was Ash or May, both would probably head to Fallarbor Gym to earn a Badge.

Ash wanted to challenge the Ever Grande Conference, while May wanted to challenge the Grand Festival. In that case, a Gym established by the current Elite Four and a Contest Master was definitely a place worth visiting.

“We will.” Ash and May both understood what Terrance meant and immediately answered seriously, already looking forward to that day.

Ash was the child of the world, and May was the daughter of Mr. Norman, one of the most outstanding Top Trainers. Both have immeasurable potential for the future. Terrance was also glad to be able to witness their growth. If Ash and May came to challenge the Gym, he would personally oversee Fallarbor Gym and test them himself.

Since Terrance still had other missions afterward, he did not stay with Ash and May for long. After personally supervising the League’s deployment of an inescapable security net in the area, he left Arcanine and Tyranitar behind as an additional precaution.

As for himself, he returned to Littleroot Town and continued preparing for the lecture.

This lecture on the Fairy Type was intended to popularize related knowledge, with the numerous grassroot Trainers as its primary audience. The Pokémon chosen by Terrance and Professor Birch to represent the Fairy Type was Sylveon.

Taking advantage of the lecture, the two of them also publicized Sylveon’s evolution method.

At the same time, during the lecture, Professor Birch strongly recommended Terrance’s book,《The Secrets of the Fairy Type》, calling it essential reading for anyone wishing to learn about Fairy-Type knowledge.

Three days later, at the summit of Mt. Chimney.

A gigantic super facility stood there. It was the training base Terrance had established after becoming an Elite Four.

Inside the training base, Altaria consumed the last Power Herb and then Mega Evolved.

When Altaria returned from Alola, it could increase its overall strength by roughly 20% through the use of natural energy. After Terrance used his exclusive Z-Move, that increase could reach 50%. Now, after consuming all the Power Herbs brought back from the Super-ancient Pyramid, Altaria’s strength enhancement through natural energy had reached an astonishing 31%.

However, the Z-Move could not be used casually, so its current effect remained unknown.

“The percentage increase provided by the Z-Move is related to Altaria’s mastery of natural energy and my physique.” Based on Rotom Pokédex’s analysis, Terrance confirmed this fact. The boost granted by the Z-Move was not fixed.

“How far has the Aura martial art deduction progressed?”

“91%, Roto.”

“Then it’s almost done. I never expected that using large amounts of Power Herb would be so beneficial to Altaria’s training. It seems I’ll have to collect more old Power Herbs in the future…”

Although Terrance and Rotom Pokédex had discovered that the more Power Herb was used, the weaker its effect became, as long as the increase had not dropped to zero, the plant still retained its value. Even if it could raise strength by less than 1%, it was still worth collecting.

By the time Power Herb no longer had any effect, his Aura martial art and meditation method might already have achieved a breakthrough. At that point, after using a Z-Move, Altaria might be able to directly double its strength and contend against Legendary Pokémon.

After returning from Littleroot Town, Terrance focused most of his attention on training his Pokémon.

At the same time, he once again rebuilt his Pokémon army.

Centered around Altaria, the Fairy Army currently consisted of Ninetales, Gardevoir, Diancie, Mawile, Togetic, Mismagius, thirty-six Ribombee, and other Pokémon.

Popplio, Eevee, and Jigglypuff, whom they still haven’t encountered, were potential future members.

Among them, Gardevoir’s training in merging psychic power with Misty Terrain was nearing completion, with its foundation already established. Diancie was rapidly assimilating the inheritance of the Diamond Domain. Ninetales had been continuously refining its Ice Moon system and had gained greatly from it. As for the newly recruited Mawile, after being baptized by Fairy Aura, it had begun redeveloping its Fairy-type powers and had stepped directly into the top tier.

Compared to when the Fairy Army had first been established, its overall strength had increased tremendously.

It was worth mentioning that the combination of Mawile’s moves “Snatch,” “Swallow,” and “Power-Up Punch” surprisingly produced an effect similar to the technique of utilizing natural energy.

After realizing this, Terrance had no doubt that if this Mawile had been left alone in the Super-ancient Pyramid, a true king might have emerged there several decades later.

However, because Mawile could not master Fairy energy and life energy, it was destined to be unable to use this technique as easily as Altaria. Every time it forcibly snatched Fairy energy, swallowed it into its body, and tempered itself through the Power-Up Punch move, it endured tremendous pain. Even afterward, its injuries would remain and continue to worsen. More importantly, such a crude method also damaged its life force. It was truly a forbidden technique, and Terrance strongly discouraged it from using it excessively.
