PC Chapter 184 Do you want…to really live?

Previous ChapterNext Chapter

Watching Castform’s indifferent attitude, Terrance couldn’t think of a solution for a moment.

But the next moment, Castform’s uniqueness resurfaced in Terrance’s mind.

Castform has the ability to change forms based on the weather.

They were respectively normal, water, fire, and ice-type forms.

This floating creature, due to the “Dragon Orb,” has an exceptional ability to control rain and thunder…but what about sunny weather and hail?

What about the other two abilities of this Castform…?

Just as Castform was about to leave, Terrance asked this question.

“Do you want to know the meaning of life? Do you want…to really live?”

For the Castform species, even though they may not be at the bottom among Pokémon, they are definitely not at the top either.

With frail bodies and no evolution capability, even changing forms is subject to various limitations.

A real battle simply does not allow them to spend so much time…

Raised by the “Weather Institute” due to their species’ characteristics, this seems to be the fate of the Castform family.

“Are you really content with it?”

“Do you not want to prove yourself, considering that your kind… ultimately faces such a fate?”

“The energy contained within the ‘Dragon Orb’ is almost dissipating, and soon it will become a ‘worthless orb.’ Your special affinity for rainy weather is derived from this energy, isn’t it?”

“Nourished by the ‘Dragon Orb’ for so long, if you were to leave it, not only would your strength be crippled, but also any attempts at further improvement would be extremely challenging.”

As Terrance spoke, Castform slowly stopped.

“Do you have any special qualities compared to other Castform?”

“In fact, the Dragon Orb has shaped your current strength, which is indeed impressive among wild Pokémon.”

“But that’s all there is to it. If I’m not mistaken, you’re probably not as familiar with ‘Sunny Day’ and ‘Hail’ as you are with ‘Rain Dance.'”

Staring directly at Castform, Terrance’s words were like a sharp sword, laying bare Castform’s situation.

Sunny Day?

Hail?

It’s not that Castform can’t perform them, it’s just that compared to Rain Dance…

It’s simply abysmal, barely reaching the average standard for Castform.

So, Terrance’s words struck right at Castform’s heart…its strength is merely based on fortuitous circumstances.

“But it’s undeniable that you have talent, being able to comprehend the ability to ‘control rainy weather’ from the Dragon Orb… that’s your advantage.”

“As long as conditions permit, on Sunny Day and Hail, you can definitely demonstrate the same talent.”

“However, you lack a certain opportunity. Staying here, without the ‘Dragon Orb,’ you can only maintain the current situation.”

“Do you think… you can still have the same coincidence, to obtain a treasure similar to the Dragon Orb?”

“Castformmm~~~~” Castform shook its head, wanting to see what else Terrance had to say.

“In other words, your strength will plateau here. Are you content to continue being just an ordinary Pokémon, mostly serving as support for monitoring the weather if caught in the future…”

Terrance smiled. This is truly the fate of most Castform, he wasn’t exaggerating to scare it.

So…

“This is an opportunity for you to change. Follow me, and I have ways to make your Hail and Sunny Day as outstanding as Rain Dance.”

“By then, on rainy days, hail and sunny days, you will be able to fully showcase the characteristics of your species.”

“Unlike other Castform, your control over the weather will become more adept, more skilled, more precise and more perfected.”

“Castformmm~~~~” Castform looked at Terrance with a strange look. No matter how you look at it, the other party was trying to dupe it and kidnap it…

Terrance’s blunt words… lacked any convincing power whatsoever.

But… even so, Castform found it difficult to just turn and leave.

In other words… Castform was somewhat tempted.

Safari Zone restricts it, and Castform was undoubtedly curious about the outside world.

Furthermore, experiencing the magic of power, Castform’s pursuit of strength is much stronger than that of other Pokémon.

If the “Dragon Orb” really became ineffective, it might indeed end up as Terrance described. Not only would it not be able to make any progress in rainy weather, it would also be utterly clueless about Hail and Sunny Day without any direction for training.

In that case… Castform would also lose the advantage of continued growth and gradually become ordinary.

“Castformmm~~~”

“Castformmm~~~ Castformmm~~~ Castformmm~~~ Castformmm~~~”

Next, Castform and Terrance communicated, and Castform clearly… couldn’t bear to lose face.

So, during the conversation with Terrance, it was unyielding and took a firm stance.

“Slow down, I can’t understand you.”

“Let me process it.” Terrance smiled wryly.

The result of the exchange was roughly that Castform agreed to temporarily accompany Terrance, but if Terrance didn’t have the ability to make it stronger…

It would leave Terrance.

Terrance readily agreed, but he found Castform’s “tsundere” attitude quite odd.

Then, Terrance and Castform entered into a contract. At this moment, no one knew what it represented.

Upon Terrance’s thorough investigation, it became apparent that this Castform isn’t inherently special. Its uniqueness stems solely from having come into contact with the “Dragon Orb” and being nourished by the energy of the Dragon Orb, which amplified its ability to control weather.

In other aspects, it was no different from other Castform.

However, it was precisely this point that attracted Terrance.

Firstly, the next Pokémon that Terrance preferred was a Water Type, and it was clear that if this Castform was raised as a Water Type, it would be a fully developed combat force.

With proper directions and guidance, its strength would become absolutely formidable.

This was also reflected in the battle with Mismagius. Castform didn’t lack strength; it lacked experience and the right timing to control its ability.

Perhaps even Castform wouldn’t think that Terrance’s initial intention to capture it was merely due to him seeing it as Water Type Pokémon…

But if that was the only reason, Terrance wouldn’t have such a strong desire to capture it. The combination of Castform and the Dragon Orb might be unprecedented. Castform and Dragonair themselves were masters of controlling weather… When their strengths combined, what kind of scene could they create…

This was a scene worth looking forward to.

Ordinary Hail and sunny weather gives Castform a certain potential, that is, room for improvement, which can also be said to be a challenge for Terrance.

If he captured a fully formed Pokémon, Terrance would lose the fun of nurturing it. Therefore, this Castform met Terrance’s standards in all aspects.

From a Water Type Pokémon’s perspective, it is a mature Pokémon, but for itself, its overall growth still has two-fold room for improvement!

A Pokémon skilled at manipulating the weather… Terrance was very excited!

Special!

Unique!

Facing an unknown challenge, as a Breeder, Terrance was beginning to feel his blood boiling. He wanted to try…to challenge and make Castform into a Pokémon proficient in all three types.

And he… already had a plan for it.
