PC Chapter 173 Creation myth of Hoenn

Previous ChapterNext Chapter

Based on Steven’s message, Terrance gained new knowledge about the mysterious meteorite…

However, when it comes to the true origin of the meteorite, one must trace it back to the creation myth of Hoenn.

In the super ancient era, the Hoenn region is said to have been created after the appearance of Groudon and Kyogre. Groudon raised the continents, while Kyogre filled the seas, resulting in the formation of the Hoenn region.

After these two Pokémon met, a monumental battle ensued in their quest to expand their territories. As a result, the current Hoenn region is scattered with islands because of that battle.

In the end, to prevent the endless battle between the two Pokémon, Rayquaza descended and suppressed them. The two Super-ancient Pokémon were then banished to unknown lands, gradually becoming a legend over time.

Of course, the complete formation of Hoenn was not solely caused by these three Pokémon. Regigigas’ movement between the continents also played a crucial role in forming Hoenn region.

Connecting Terrance’s information about the history of the meteorite, Steven confirmed and unearthed the history of Sootopolis City.

Thousands of years ago, a massive meteorite fell into the ocean, and the meteorite crater later became the present-day Sootopolis City.

Several years later, Kyogre and Groudon again clashed over natural energy. Ancestors discovered a mysterious “rainbow-colored meteorite” brought by the gigantic meteorite and prayed to it. This prompted Rayquaza to descend once again, driving away the two battling Pokémon.

The gigantic meteorite that fell into the ocean could be considered the source which created Sootopolis City.

Subsequently, to prevent this place from facing calamities again, the Sky Pillar was erected to enshrine the rainbow-colored meteorite.

However, after summoning the Rayquaza, the meteorite seemed to have depleted all its energy, slowly turning from a rainbow-colored meteorite to an ordinary meteorite.

Upon learning the origin of the mysterious meteorite from Terrance and connecting it to the “Meteor Falls” and “Sootopolis City’s history,” Steven discovered astonishing similarities between the two meteorites.

Through some investigation, Steven also learned about the manifestations of the energy-depleted “rainbow-colored meteorite,” where it undergoes a continuous process of degradation…there’s a stage that resembles the current meteorite in Terrance’s possession.

“Isn’t this a bit too exaggerated?” Terrance muttered inwardly in shock. This meteorite… had a connection to Rayquaza?

The message he received indeed shook Terrance to the core, causing him to be somewhat distracted as he toured the Trainer’s School.

Moreover, in the text message, Steven was waiting for Terrance’s reply via a video call.

“Mr. Terrance, I wonder if you’re interested in having a Gym Battle at Rustboro Gym?”

Before parting ways, Roxanne extended an invitation to Terrance. However, Terrance had no intention of challenging the League Conference at the moment. With the matter of the meteorite awaiting further investigation, he had no inclination to challenge the Gym either.

So, Terrance tactfully refused Roxanne.

“Well then, if you ever have the time, feel free to come to Rustboro Gym for a challenge. I’ll continue to improve my strength,” Roxanne said.

Thanking A’Yue and the others, the young students reluctantly bid farewell to Terrance.

“By the way, Terrance, aren’t you planning to participate in the upcoming Pokémon Contest in Rustboro City?”

A’Yue suddenly remembered something. The children couldn’t forget Terrance’s performance, and if they attended the Pokémon Contest, they could witness Terrance’s performance again.

While tickets need to be purchased and there are limits on their availability, there is still a chance to obtain them if one is determined enough.

After gaining a preliminary understanding of Coordinators, the children immediately developed a desire to watch the Pokémon Contest.

“Unfortunately, I can’t. I just learned of an unexpected development, and there’s a high chance I’ll be leaving Rustboro City soon, possibly missing this Pokémon Contest,” Terrance smiled bitterly.

Among the things Steven told him was an invitation to a place where they could better understand the meteorite.

In other words, Terrance, who had arrived in Rustboro City not long ago, was about to leave for another place.

Since leaving Crown Academy, Terrance had been constantly on the move, never getting a moment of rest.

Fortunately, Pokémon Contests are held frequently. During the interval between Grand Festivals, there are almost dozens of contests held, so there is no need to worry.

….

…..

Pokemon Center.

Terrance and Steven made contact again, and as the screen flashed, Steven’s figure appeared on the other side.

“Terrance… I’ve been waiting for your call.”

Seeing Terrance, Steven instantly showed a surprised expression.

“Do you already know the origin of that meteorite?”

“There’s a good chance…it has a significant connection to the ‘rainbow-colored meteorite’ that created Sootopolis City and summoned Rayquaza!”

“This is…the biggest surprise I’ve encountered since I started searching for precious stones.”

Terrance didn’t quite understand Steven’s enthusiasm for stones, but if the meteorite was related to Rayquaza, even Terrance himself started feeling excited.

Legendary Pokémon.

He hadn’t seen a single one yet, and for a Breeder or Trainer, encountering Legendary Pokémon is simply a profound experience.

If he could observe them up close, Terrance might be able to glean some insights from the Legendary Pokémon, obtaining invaluable knowledge that is unknown to others.

This was also why many researchers, scholars and professors were obsessed with searching for the traces of Legendary Pokémon.

Take Celebi for example… Its ability to traverse through time and space, even if just slightly understood by people, would immediately spark a series of academic debates and lead to a new round of research and understanding of the world by the academic community.

“I already have a rough idea. I should have some free time coming up, but it won’t be too much,” Terrance said.

“That’s good, it’s enough, I won’t take up too much of your time,” Steven hastily added, “Are you currently in… Rustboro City?”

“Yes.”

“Alright, although I can’t arrange a private helicopter, if it’s a ship, I believe it can be arranged.”

“You take a ship to Lilycove City, I’m waiting for you here.”

From Rustboro City to Lilycove City… the distance wasn’t short, but out of curiosity about the meteorite, Terrance readily agreed.

Following that, the two exchanged some information, and then Terrance began waiting for Steven’s so-called friend to contact him.

If he could use a private yacht to get there, he should be able to save some unnecessary expenses…

Although these expenses weren’t much for Steven, Terrance still preferred to save where he could.

“Lilycove City…”

Recalling Lilycove City, Terrance suddenly paused. He remembered that next to Lilycove City, there seemed to be a Safari Zone.

Commonly known as a hunting zone, it was a vast natural area where Trainers could capture Pokémon.

“Then….if I go there along the way, there might be a chance to capture a new Pokémon?”
