“Terrance, he…”
To avoid interfering with the Ice Moon’s fall, Steven and the others had withdrawn to the opposite side, high in the sky in a direction completely different from Terrance’s position.
Originally, they should have regrouped immediately and fought Groudon and Kyogre together to buy time for the League. But Steven hadn’t expected that, after sending such a strange report, Terrance would actually head down first.
“What happened?” Glacia asked.
“Terrance sent word to the League saying there might be a turning point in the battle, though even he isn’t certain. Right now, Terrance has already gone down alone.”
“After using a trump card like that, he still has enough strength left to fight? What else has he been hiding?” Wallace asked in surprise.
Confused as they were, everyone exchanged nods and immediately reorganized their formation, preparing to go support Terrance.
Lance, Steven, Sidney, Phoebe, and Glacia all bore the responsibility that came with being Elite Fours and Champions. In a disaster like this, they had to step forward to protect the public. It was also the oath every Elite Four and Champion had personally sworn upon receiving that title. After learning that Primal Groudon and Primal Kyogre had begun rampaging again, Elite Four Sidney and Elite Four Phoebe rushed back once more!
Drake remained silent for a long time before returning as well. Although he was no longer an Elite Four, he could not simply stand by and watch Primal Groudon and Primal Kyogre continue wreaking havoc unchecked.
Wallace was the same. He was not an Elite Four, yet to protect Sootopolis City, he had voluntarily fought alongside them, never once shrinking from the risks involved.
Whether it was Drake, a Top Trainer, or Wallace, a Contest Master, both displayed the courage befitting true powerhouses.
In midair, Mewtwo descended rapidly. From watching the earlier battle, it had already gained a clear understanding of the strength of the two Super-ancient Pokémon. These two Pokémon were even stronger than Giratina, the Renegade Pokémon it had encountered in another world, which made Mewtwo extremely satisfied with the two opponents Terrance had found for it.
“Your opponent is me—”
Seeing Groudon and Kyogre, devoid of reason and acting only on instinct to unleash the power of Desolate Land and Primordial Sea, Mewtwo shouted coldly. To possess such power and yet be bound by human thoughts, you’re pathetic!
As Mewtwo charged in aggressively, Groudon and Kyogre also noticed its presence. The fury from having been attacked was instantly redirected toward Mewtwo.
Primal Groudon created land and climbed onto it, then spat out a blast of furious flames from its mouth. In its hands, the Eruption move erupted with flames that seemed capable of destroying heaven and earth. The raging flames perfectly fused with the power of harsh sunlight, making them seem bright enough to rival the sun itself.
Primal Kyogre slapped its fins, instantly turning the ocean turbulent and whipping up colossal waves that crashed forward like a weapon. Kyogre’s Surf move already possessed the might of a mega tsunami.
Faced with two overwhelmingly powerful attacks, Mewtwo’s figure flashed, and its body instantly shifted into another form.
Compared with its previous form, Mewtwo’s physique became much smaller. Its pupils turned red, while all the purple coloration on its tail and abdomen disappeared, reappearing instead on its hands and feet. The most obvious change was the organ that emerged from its head, extending backward like a pair of “headphones” and replacing its tail.
“Such powerful psychic waves, Roto!” The Rotom Pokédex hiding near Terrance’s chest immediately cried out in astonishment.
In that instant, Mewtwo had completely tapped into the full extent of its psychic potential, evolving into the form it had personally named Y!
“That is…”
Altaria deliberately veered away from Groudon and Kyogre’s attacks, avoiding their trajectories, but Mewtwo charged straight toward them. After transforming, blue light surged across Mewtwo’s entire body. In the next moment, blue psychic waves swept outward like a violent gale. The water and flames seemed to encounter an enormous resistance, instantly compressed and forced to spread in every direction!
With nothing more than the psychic power converted from its immense psychic energy, Mewtwo directly neutralized the moves of the two Super-ancient Pokémon. The change in Mewtwo’s strength made Terrance freeze for a moment, and at the same time, he noticed Mewtwo’s current appearance. This transformation… was undoubtedly Mega Evolution. Mewtwo had actually mastered the ability to Mega Evolve by itself.
The instant the powerful psychic field enveloping the entire sky spread outward and successfully forced the two attacks away, Mewtwo waved one hand. The psychic field rapidly transformed into a gravity field, and the tremendous pressure instantly hurled the attacks back at the two Super-ancient Pokémon. The water and flames, mixed with the immense pressure generated by the psychic waves, crashed down together and, as expected, caused an extremely terrifying explosion. Although it was not as powerful as the Moonfall, it far surpassed the scale of any previous collision between the human powerhouses and the two Super-ancient Pokémon.
The roaring energy fluctuations engulfed the two Super-ancient Pokémon. Accompanied by a tremendous boom, the situation at Route 127 was once again relayed to the Hoenn League, and everyone began staring dumbfounded at the changes on the battlefield.
“What exactly happened?”
Through the blurry screen, the Hoenn League representatives saw Mega Mewtwo Y and Terrance.
Protected by Mega Diancie, Terrance had no fear whatsoever of the shockwaves generated from fighting the two Super-ancient Pokémon. Altaria also left Terrance’s side at this point, skillfully controlling natural energy and merging it into its own body, boosting its strength by more than thirty percent. As Altaria spread its wings, countless Dazzling Gleams burst forth, following up Mewtwo’s attack and throwing the entire sea into chaos.
“Mewtwo, don’t get carried away fighting them. Our main objective is to restore their senses. Do you have any way to do that?”
“Unfortunately, ever since I left New Island, my research into psychic abilities has been limited entirely to destruction,” Mewtwo said. “Let’s just use your original method. Defeat them, and they’ll naturally revert from this form. Once that happens, they’ll be easy to deal with.”
So in the end… they still had to fight.
While Terrance and Mewtwo were communicating, Primal Groudon and Primal Kyogre erupted in fury once again. The previous attack had clearly succeeded in inflicting real damage on them. At that moment, Mewtwo shouted and spread both hands. The bodies of the two Super-ancient Pokémon were immediately wrapped in blue psychic waves, slowly dragged out of the sea, and lifted into the air. As the psychic waves tore at them, fresh wounds were continuously ripped across their bodies…
Seeing this, Mega Gallade and Mega Altaria immediately pressed the advantage, aiming at the vital points of the immobilized Kyogre and Groudon and launching attack after attack!
When this scene was transmitted through the still-operating drones, the eyes of people all around the world once again gathered on Groudon and Kyogre, as well as on Terrance and his Pokémon! In particular, the Pokémon capable of suppressing Primal Groudon and Primal Kyogre single-handedly attracted widespread attention.
When Steven and the others arrived and saw that Terrance really was suppressing Primal Groudon and Primal Kyogre on his own, facing the two Super-ancient Pokémon in their Primal forms as easily as if they were in their normal states, they were instantly left utterly stunned.
At the same time, in the Kanto Region, at Team Rocket headquarters, Giovanni, who had been watching the battle at Route 127, stared at Mega Mewtwo Y’s familiar appearance. He subconsciously crushed the cup in his hand, then revealed an expression of disbelief.
