PC Chapter 1027 The Shadow of Team Aqua

So many wild Dragon-type Pokémon actually inhabited the depths of Meteor Falls. If poachers found out, they would probably go wild with joy.

“Something’s not right.”

Just as he was about to leave, Terrance suddenly sensed that something was amiss. Although a Breeder’s knowledge of Pokémon habitats was not all-encompassing, based on his experience, as well as the environment he had just seen and the one before him now, Terrance could not believe that Meteor Falls possessed enough resources for a group of Dragon-type Pokémon to choose to live here.

“Roar!!”

Following a tremendous roar, Bagons stopped what they were doing and looked toward another Dragon-type Pokémon slowly approaching from the distance— a Druddigon.

However, after merely glancing at it, Bagons showed no further reaction and resumed what they had been doing.

“Besides Bagon and Deino, even Druddigon live here… Is there something unusual about this place?”

Terrance shook his head and patted Gardevoir, preparing to leave. Even if some secret was hidden here, he currently had no energy to investigate it. His top priority was to finish dealing with everything already on his plate.

Whoosh!

With another Teleport from Gardevoir, Terrance and the others disappeared from the area. However, Terrance did not know that the Druddigon that had suddenly barged in immediately stared toward the general area where they had vanished. This time, it let out a warning roar, causing the surrounding Bagons to run about in panic.

After passing through the Solrock habitat and Bagons habitat, Terrance and the others finally found traces of Lunatone.

There were ten Lunatone in total. Like the Solrock from before, they were pressed against the wall, seemingly asleep.

Terrance chose the capture method most commonly used by Trainers: battle them and then capture them directly. Under Gardevoir’s powerful Confusion wave, the surrounding stones began trembling in an instant. Faced with this pressure, the red eyes of the Lunatone on the wall suddenly lit up. However, despite their large numbers, they still could not withstand the pressure of Gardevoir’s Confusion. Ten Psyshocks struck as though they had landed upon the surface of the sea, raising only the faintest ripple.

“Lunatone, I’m going to capture you. Let’s battle.”

Terrance greeted them first, appearing within the Lunatone’s field of vision alongside Gardevoir’s Misty Terrain. The inaccurate Psyshocks not only failed to affect Terrance in the slightest, but were instead swallowed by the Misty Terrain and turned into nourishment.

Gardevoir soon took the initiative to attack. As psychic power fused with the mist, the pink mist rapidly took shape, transforming into chains that shot forth like flood dragons. After forcefully enduring the Psyshocks of all ten Lunatone, the chains swept across them and bound each one in turn.

As the Lunatone came into contact with the Fairy Locks formed from mist, the mist’s suction force increased once more and began draining their stamina. After training within Altaria’s Fairy Aura for some time, Gardevoir could now skillfully manipulate the product of fused psychic power and mist as though it were an extension of its own limbs. It might still be some distance from Mewtwo’s level, but it had nevertheless taken a major step forward.

If it battled within an environment filled with Fairy Aura, Gardevoir’s control over the mist would become even stronger.

Seeing that the Lunatone had been restrained, Terrance had Gardevoir use a wide-range Hypnosis as an extra precaution, putting them all to sleep.

At the same time, Gardevoir’s Confusion opened Terrance’s backpack and controlled ten empty Poké Balls, sending them flying out to touch the Lunatone’s bodies.

Terrance’s precise Poké Ball throwing technique, which he had spent a long time mastering, had actually seen almost no use…

With their stamina nearly exhausted, their bodies bound and unable to struggle, and themselves fast asleep, the Lunatone had no strength to resist after being drawn into the Poké Balls. Terrance soon captured them all.

Following the same pattern, Terrance and Gardevoir proceeded to the next Lunatone habitat. There were even more Lunatone here than in the previous location—a full fourteen. Terrance and Gardevoir used the same method again, controlling fourteen Poké Balls and sending them flying over, successfully capturing all the Lunatone.

There were twenty-four Lunatone in total. If they were raised according to the breeding plan in the Cosmic Power move secret technique, even if they trained only Cosmic Power, it would still cost over ten million before they could properly master the move, and that did not include their subsequent upkeep. Terrance could support an investment of this scale fairly easily, but for those Dojos, it would be a considerable burden. No wonder they had only trained a dozen or so Pokémon.

On the ground, twenty-four Poké Balls containing Lunatone were neatly arranged in a row. Terrance was considering how to deal with these Lunatone when Gardevoir suddenly sent him a warning through its senses. A living creature was currently approaching them.

Judging from what Gardevoir sensed, the approaching figure was human, accompanied by a Pokémon whose life force was exceptionally vigorous.

Terrance temporarily ignored the Lunatone and stepped forward, waiting for the newcomer. He had already ventured deep into Meteor Falls. Could Trainers really come this far inside?

The entire cave grew silent. Terrance waited calmly, and after roughly a minute, a figure appeared before him. The sight made Terrance pause slightly, but his expression immediately hardened, and he ordered Gardevoir to launch a surprise attack without hesitation.

A white short-sleeved shirt with blue stripes, black gloves, dark-blue cropped trousers and boots suited for moving through aquatic environments, and long tights beneath the trousers bearing the same pattern as the shirt. Although the person’s face and hair were concealed by a blue headscarf, the familiar outfit immediately allowed Terrance to identify her affiliation.

“Team Aqua!”

Terrance had not encountered Team Aqua as often as Team Magma, but that did not mean he knew little about them. Back when Steven, Terrance, and Phoebe had investigated Team Magma and Team Aqua, the three of them had worked together. During that period, they had destroyed quite a few branches belonging to both organizations and obtained a great deal of intelligence. After sharing their findings, Terrance had become extremely familiar with the Admins of both groups and the typical Pokémon lineups used by their ordinary members.

The clothes worn by the person before him were those of a Team Aqua grunt, and the emblem representing Team Aqua on her headscarf further confirmed her identity.

The habits Terrance had developed over the past year caused him to strike immediately without underestimating his opponent in the slightest. In fact, his decision was completely correct, because even then, Gardevoir failed to suppress the opponent in the first exchange. The moment the Salamence beside the Team Aqua grunt sensed the psychic wave, it swiftly used its imposing pressure together with a roar to resist it, displaying a level of strength that surprised Terrance.

For a moment, the shockwaves from that simple clash caused the surrounding cave to tremble, showing signs of collapse.

“With this level of strength… are you Shelly? No… you shouldn’t be her.” Terrance stared coldly at the female Trainer before him, suddenly uncertain of her true identity.
