After everyone used red wine to cover the smell of blood on their bodies, Lu Li reminded them, “Bring the clothes with you. If you see anyone, throw the clothes toward them. If you don’t, throw them away outside the residential complex.”
Everyone nodded, then rushed out together with Lu Li.
The moment the group went outside, people in the building opposite them began throwing things down at them.
Objects thrown from such a height, especially heavy ones, could absolutely kill someone.
Lu Li and the others fled in an extremely sorry state, and two unlucky people were struck and left there forever.
Even so, the group managed to escape the residential complex without further incident. After throwing away the bloodstained clothes, they crossed the road with low morale and returned to the shopping mall.
Not long after Lu Li and the others returned to the mall, a group of gray Pokémon arrived at the place where they had discarded their clothes.
The Pokémon leading them was a Mightyena.
Mightyena raised its head and sniffed the air.
Then it looked thoughtfully at the shopping mall across the road before turning its head toward the residential building nearby.
The smell of blood drifted in two different directions. One trail led toward the mall across the road, while the other seemed to end somewhere on a floor of that high-rise building.
However, the bloody scent leading toward the mall was much fainter. After hesitating for a moment, Mightyena let out a howl, then led the Poochyena straight toward the high-rise building.
Two minutes later.
Shrill screams echoed throughout the entire residential building.
Ten minutes later.
The screams in the residential building gradually died away, leaving behind only the faint sound of bones being gnawed.
Lu Li had no idea what had happened at Anke Residential Complex after they left. At the moment, everyone was lining up to take showers in the public bathhouse.
“What a pity about Old Ma. He didn’t die to a demon beast, but ended up dying at the hands of his own kind,” Huang Jiafei sighed softly.
Old Xu beside him fully agreed and nodded heavily. “Yeah. Those animals fight in the most underhanded way possible.”
“If they dare strike first, then they can’t blame us for retaliating. Have the people in camp keep a close watch on Anke Residential Complex. If anyone from there dares step into our territory, capture them all.”
“Whether they’re from the Demon Camp or not, capture them first and ask questions later. If they’re good people, then forget it. If they’re from the Demon Camp, send them to keep Zhao Zhu and the others company,” Huang Jiafei said viciously.
“But Sister Jun is over there…”
Lu Li had just finished showering and came out. Hearing this, he said directly, “Sister Jun won’t object. As long as they’re from the Demon Camp, feed every last one of them to that ghost demon beast.”
Still, Lu Li was not optimistic about this. After all, the people from the Demon Camp were not stupid. Since they had already offended Dawn Camp, there was no way they would voluntarily walk into Dawn Camp’s base.
“Tell the brothers to endure it for a few more days. I’m working on something big. Once it succeeds, every single person in the Demon Camp will have to pay the price.” Lu Li also took the opportunity to calm everyone down.
After being schemed against repeatedly, losing companions, and not even being able to bring their bodies back, everyone was definitely holding in a fury with nowhere to vent it.
They couldn’t keep suppressing that anger forever, or it might end up burning the camp itself. The best solution was to give them something to look forward to and guide them into directing all that rage at the Demon Camp.
Old Xu was quick on the uptake and immediately followed up, “Brother Lu, what big thing are you talking about? And how long will it take?”
“For now, it’s a secret. As for the time, ten days at most,” Lu Li said confidently.
The others were somewhat disappointed when they heard they would still have to wait ten days, but the anger in their hearts was no longer as intense as before.
“It’s a shame Sister Jun’s pistol is out of bullets. Otherwise, she’d definitely gun down those b*stards herself,” Old Xu said through gritted teeth, the veins at his temples faintly bulging.
Lu Li patted Old Xu on the shoulder, then turned and left the washroom.
After returning to his residence, Lu Li let Little Beauty and Weedle out.
The moment Weedle came out, it cried out aggressively.
“Weedle”
(Trainer, why didn’t you let me teach those guys a lesson?)
“Once you evolve into Beedrill, we’ll go settle the score,” Lu Li reassured it.
“Weedle”
(I don’t even need to evolve to deal with them. One Poison Sting from me and they’d all be dead.)
Lu Li could roughly understand what Weedle meant, and he also knew that if Weedle went up against the people from the Demon Camp, it would basically be a one-sided slaughter.
But Lu Li understood that in the apocalypse, the ones they truly needed to guard against were wild Pokémon. Threats from other humans were not that serious—at least, now that he had Weedle, he basically did not need to worry about trouble from other people who had no firearms.
“Alright, I’ll feed you two first. After I finish dinner later, I still have a meeting to attend.” As Lu Li spoke, he began mixing protein powder.
Feebas’s nutrient solution was mainly made from protein powder and some health supplements that were supposedly good for beauty and complexion.
Weedle’s nutrient solution mainly consisted of protein powder, calcium tablets, and certain vitamins.
Aside from that, Lu Li had also specifically asked other people in the camp to help gather quite a lot of leaves for him.
Those leaves could hardly fill Weedle’s stomach, but at least Weedle could eat them as snacks.
Compared with the nutrient solution, leaves really were like junk food to Weedle.
According to Lu Li’s observations over the past few days, if a Weedle wanted to fill its stomach entirely with leaves, it would have to eat continuously for at least three whole days.
It was foreseeable that among the Bug-type Pokémon that had descended into this world, especially the weaker and short-lived ones, a group would soon be eliminated.
However, by then, the Pokémon that died of old age could conveniently help some omnivorous Pokémon survive the most difficult period.
Looking at it that way, Bug-type Pokémon made quite a large contribution to the Pokémon population as a whole, almost rivaling Grass-type Pokémon.
Speaking of Grass-type Pokémon, Lu Li thought again of the Bounsweet on the seventh floor.
Bounsweet already occupied the bottom of the food chain, and it was even one of the rare Pokémon explicitly recorded as being eaten by humans.
For a Pokémon like that to live on the seventh floor and remain unharmed for so long was already remarkable. Even more remarkable was that there were three dangerous individuals living beside it.
There was no need to say much about Scyther. Bug-type already had an advantage over Grass-type, and Scyther was one of the outstanding members among Bug-type Pokémon.
Then there was Skarmory. Skarmory was based on a primitive bird, and Pokémon of that sort were usually savage and ferocious by nature. They definitely could not be considered good neighbors.
Skorupi went without saying even more. Skorupi was Bug- and Poison-type, which also made it a natural counter to Bounsweet.
For a cute and soft Bounsweet to live together with a bunch of thugs like that, there was no way it could be ordinary.
That also indirectly showed that the Bounsweet really was quite exceptional. Lu Li genuinely wanted to reserve the third Poké Ball slot for it.
But Bounsweet’s neighbors were too strong. Even if he managed to persuade Indeedee to help when the time came, there was no guarantee it would work.
After all, Indeedee was not a Pokémon particularly skilled at fighting, while Scyther was a natural-born warrior.
After feeding the two little fellows, Lu Li went to the cafeteria to eat.
Because they had obtained quite a lot of red wine this time, today’s dinner was also more lavish than usual. Besides meat, there was red wine as well. Almost everyone except the children received a glass of red wine.
