APJ Chapter 1291 Rookie Wednesday (Part 2) (1.5x)

At this moment, the one in charge of Onigashima had also already left the Reverse World.

Those who could fly were often more willful. Unlike Charlotte Linlin, who had set out several days in advance, and Beckman, who brought the crew along to bolster appearances, Kaido only needed to depart one day early to reach his destination.

So Kaido very reasonably allocated himself five days of free time.

Three days for fighting, one day for recovery, and the final day for travel.

“Peh.”

Spitting out a mouthful of blood, Yamato looked at a broken tooth and angrily questioned Kaido, “Damn father, you’re still aiming for the face at a time like this?! Do you know losing a tooth seriously affects appearance?!”

“Isn’t that something that can be fixed just by drinking some milk?”

Kaido tossed out a small bottle of milk, with a Miltank logo clearly visible on it.

“Besides, aren’t you the same? Look here, wasn’t this your doing?”

Kaido pointed at his own forehead. It was true he had been aiming for the face, but Yamato had also been attacking his head.

“That’s nonsense. Why don’t I see any wounds?”

Although Kaido’s hand was stained with blood, there were no marks left on his skin. His powerful regenerative ability had already healed the wounds, erasing the evidence entirely.

“What a coincidence, aren’t there no marks on you either?”

After drinking the milk, Yamato’s teeth had already regrown. Kaido then casually stepped on the broken tooth on the ground, destroying it completely on a physical level. For a moment, all traces of their battle were erased.

Even the battlefield in the Reverse World had disappeared due to Giratina’s restoration. It was as if Kaido and Yamato’s fight had never happened at all, vanishing from the world without a trace.

“We’re setting off tomorrow. There’s no telling what might happen in this alliance. You’re coming with me too, stop doing those childish voyages of yours all day. It’s time you experienced something big.”

“What problems could an alliance have?”

“Plenty. Distribution of benefits, who takes the lead—pirates are a group full of betrayal. Don’t think every alliance can be as stable as the one between me and your dad.

That’s a rare exception. Allying with that lot means dealing with schemes at every turn—and that goes for Red Hair as well. There’s no telling how many hidden agendas he has up his sleeve.

Of course, in the end, it all comes down to fists.”

At the end of it, Kaido returned to his usual way; deciding everything through strength.

“Tch, and here I thought you’d come up with something new. In the end, it’s all about fighting.”

“Enough nonsense. Go get ready. We leave early tomorrow, don’t embarrass us in front of outsiders.”

With that, Kaido returned to his room. Yamato didn’t think much of it and went to make preparations for the trip as well. After several days had passed, most of the visiting kings had already departed in amazement, while only the scholars from Ohara remained in an excited state.

The knowledge they had studied in the past had been completely overturned. Pokémon were not the result of natural evolution at all, but creations of a god. Yet this did not dampen their enthusiasm in the slightest.

Instead, like students, they cast aside their previous knowledge and began relearning everything from scratch. Without the frameworks and boundaries formed by that previous knowledge, the mysteries that once troubled them completely disappeared.

Nightin, who had gone through a similar experience, also found herself no longer troubled by the seemingly unscientific nature of Berry plants. The Kanpo Kenpo that incorporated Berry-based medicine had also achieved new breakthroughs.

The banquet on the island came to an end. The pirates’ feast was reaching its finale, while the scholars’ feast had only just begun. Arceus’s appearance had given them an endless future, with countless unknowns waiting to be explored and understood.

However, Kaido was faced with a problem; several Giants had come to find him.

“Governor-General Kaido, we’ve heard that you’re planning to form an alliance with Big Mom. Is that true?”

“If nothing unexpected happens, then yes, that will indeed be the case.”

“The Giants and Big Mom have irreconcilable conflicts. No Giant will establish any connection with her. This is the iron rule of the Kingdom of Giants.”

First, she went berserk in an Elbaf village and destroyed it, then caused the death of a legendary Giant, and finally her daughter fled before her engagement with Loki. All matters related to Charlotte Linlin had long since crossed the Giants’ bottom line.

“I know. The relationship between us is limited to the Beasts Pirates and the New Giant Warrior Pirates, including any individuals among you who may wish to join later. Anything related to that old hag has nothing to do with you. Are you satisfied with this answer?”

“If that’s the case… we have no objections.”

The Giants exchanged glances and all accepted Kaido’s answer.

Other matters were negotiable, but getting them to establish any connection with Charlotte Linlin was impossible. If the Beasts Pirates truly intended that, then even if they longed for Arceus’s power, they would have no choice but to part ways.

Kaido, of course, wouldn’t weaken his own forces for Charlotte Linlin’s sake, so he gave them a very firm answer.

Having obtained the answer they wanted, the Giants didn’t linger and instead set off on a new voyage to accumulate contributions.

Kaido then held a family banquet, under the pretext of eating well and conserving energy in preparation for attending the alliance meeting. However, as the two of them sat at the dining table, the chefs in the kitchen were sweating profusely.

“What’s wrong with you? Is it really that cold?”

“Governor-General Kaido came by an hour ago…”

“Oni Princess came by half an hour ago…”

The two chefs leaned against the stove with pale faces, as if something very unfriendly had happened.

“So what if they came?”

“They… both specially prepared ‘surprises’ for each other.”

“Oh, you must be new, right? Don’t worry. Even if those two mess with each other, it won’t come back to you in the end.”

The head chef saw what was going on and reassured them to relax.

At the same time, a tragic “poisoning” incident unfolded at the dining table.

“Hya!! So spicy. Damn father, you’re causing trouble again!”

Yamato stuck out her tongue and fanned it. She had just eaten a piece of cherry matcha cake, but what she didn’t expect was that the matcha was just a disguise—beneath the powder and cream was wasabi paste, and the cherry had been hollowed out and stuffed with Cheri Berry jam.

The unique spiciness of the Cheri Berry combined with the pungency of wasabi instantly numbed her tongue. Spicy food was Yamato’s weakness—she had always avoided it.

And Kaido had already been plotting against her during his earlier lecture, lulling her into lowering her guard, only to trick her again here.

“Worororo, this is exactly the kind of thing you need to watch out for. Opportunities for poisoning are everywhere.”

“Cut it out! What poison can even take me down now?! You’re just causing trouble!”

“Worororo, you know my personality and still didn’t take precautions. That’s your second mistake.”

Before Kaido could finish speaking, his facial expression twisted. While mocking and lecturing Yamato, he had tossed a rice ball into his mouth, only to find it filled entirely with pickled plums.

Yamato feared spice, and in some ways she inherited traits from Kaido. Just as Yamato had almost zero tolerance for spicy food, Kaido himself had very poor tolerance for sour flavors. Though he didn’t shout, the scrunched-up look on his face said everything.

“Very good. Looks like you’ve learned a bit about the underhanded nature of pirates. You’ve already learned to strike first.”

“Likewise, I learned it all from you!”

“I think there’s still time. How about we settle this the usual way?”

“Let’s do it!”

At the same time, the two of them pulled out their kanabo from under the table and, in near-perfect synchronization, smashed them toward each other’s heads once again.

Within minutes, another huge hole was blasted into the side of Onigashima. The two shifted from ground combat to aerial combat, flying high into the sky. At this point, no one could even open the door for them.

In the inland sea, Jinbe looked at the commotion above with shock, his eyes nearly popping out of his head.

The Ryugu Kingdom was one of the few that hadn’t yet returned. Merfolk and Fish-Men were naturally fond of water, so they all remained within the inland sea.

“Boss Tai, what… is going on?”

“Just a fight. It’s their daily routine. But Onigashima’s been destroyed again. When the Lord comes back, he won’t be happy.”

Shaking his head, Tiger got up and left the inland sea, planning to have the Machamp repair Onigashima before Arceus returned.

Amid the constant clang of hammers, night work began on Onigashima. Yamato and Kaido’s battle finally ended at dawn, and the two of them set off for the agreed island together with Red Hair, whom they picked up along the way.

At the same time, CP0 and a special Marine task force had already arrived at the designated location.

“The Marine surveillance ship has reached the nearby waters. According to intelligence from two days ago, the main ships of the Big Mom Pirates and the Red Hair Pirates have already set out. Only the Beasts Pirates’ movements remain unclear for now.”

A Marine reported the latest situation to the leaders of CP0 and the Marines.

“This is actually an opportunity. In the past, these pirates were scattered everywhere, making it difficult for us to act. Now that they’re gathered together, shouldn’t we try to wipe them out in one go?”

“Vice Admiral, the Marines currently don’t have the manpower. And given their mobility… it would be very difficult for us to keep them here. We don’t have a reason to force them into a fight to the death.”

The Marine’s suggestion was immediately rejected by the CP0 leader, who seemed to understand the situation better.

“Besides, the main objective this time is sabotage. Sometimes, sabotage doesn’t require us to act personally; just a little trick is enough. Is everything prepared?”

“It’s ready.”

A CP0 agent beside him responded, and a large photograph of Carmel appeared in his hand.
