GGS-Chapter 1144 Unstoppable Momentum

Previous ChapterNext Chapter

After deftly bypassing one Australian player, Su Jing swiftly crossed the half-court line, showcasing his lightning-fast speed and agility.

Two Australian players, standing close to each other, immediately reacted and moved to intercept Su Jing. In a sudden halt, Su Jing leaped into the air, surprising the Australian players with his extraordinary vertical leap.

Despite there being nearly a meter of distance between him and the three-point line, the question lingered in their minds: was he about to take a shot from there?

To their astonishment, Su Jing’s move was not a Fake. Both Australian players jumped up to block him, but they soon realized that Su Jing had a higher leap than them. Moreover, in mid-air, his body leaned back, almost lying flat, and with a flick of his wrist, the basketball soared through the air.

The basketball followed a beautiful arc, gracefully brushing against the net before smoothly dropping into the basket. It was a perfect three-pointer, as if meticulously calculated.

The Chinese team had accumulated seven points, while the Australian team had yet to score.

“Wow!”

The entire arena erupted once again, filled with awe and amazement.

If one exceptional performance could be attributed to luck and two to a temporary burst of talent, what about three consecutive displays? It was undeniably evident that this was Su Jing’s true strength.

Although Su Jing had only scored three baskets, each one was unique. One was a jump shot within the three-point line, another was a powerful dunk, and the third was a fadeaway shot from beyond the three-point line.

Within a short span of time, he showcased his complete basketball skills, including dribbling, crossover moves, rebounding, and more. His formidable and versatile abilities were on full display.

The Australian coach couldn’t remain seated any longer and called for a timeout. After discussing tactics with the team, they resumed the game with a clear change in their formation.

Firstly, on the offensive end, they aimed to minimize Su Jing’s impact as much as possible, focusing on containing him while seeking opportunities to penetrate through the other four Chinese players.

The overall strength of the Australian team surpassed that of the other four Chinese players. By playing steadily, they managed to break through the Chinese team’s defense and scored a two-pointer, bringing the score to 7-2.

The Chinese team inbounded the ball, and unsurprisingly, it found its way directly into Su Jing’s hands.

Su Jing dribbled past the half-court line and quickly observed the change in the opposing team’s formation. This time, not only was there one player assigned to defend him but two.

At this point, both the Australian players and the spectators believed that Su Jing would surely pass the ball. However, their expectations were shattered as they witnessed Su Jing suddenly accelerate his dribble, leaning so far to the left that it seemed like he would fall.

With a massive step forward using his left foot, he startled the player on the left, who hastily moved to intercept. Simultaneously, the player on the right retreated half a step, aiming to close the gap and prevent Su Jing from slipping through.

But Su Jing’s body seemed to defy the laws of physics, exhibiting no inertia. He swiftly pulled back, fluidly leaning towards the right, transitioning from the left side to the right side like a wobbly toy struck heavily.

His speed was extraordinary as he transformed into a flash of lightning, skillfully maneuvering through the right side.

He dashed towards the area under the basket, leaped up, and another Australian player had already jumped earlier, attempting to block Su Jing based on their height advantage.

However, this time, Su Jing didn’t confront him head-on. Instead, he exhibited his impeccable ball control skills.

He brought the basketball, which he held above his head, down to his waist, circled it in mid-air, bypassed the Australian player, and delicately placed the ball into the basket. It was a remarkable two-pointer.

This time, the cheers from the spectators reached an even higher decibel level, resonating throughout the arena. The Australian coach and players were increasingly dumbfounded by Su Jing’s prowess.

Undeterred, the Australian team refused to lose heart. They acknowledged the fact that the other four players on the Chinese team were relatively weaker compared to Su Jing. Basketball was a team sport, and victory relied on collective effort, not individual brilliance.

The Australian team calmly launched another offensive, sticking to their strategy of containing Su Jing while searching for opportunities elsewhere on the court. They quickly scored another basket, narrowing the score to 9-4.

In this manner, the game continued with both teams playing to their respective advantages. The Australian team relied on their overall strength, while Su Jing continued to dominate on his own.

To the surprise of the Australian team, the point difference did not shrink but instead grew wider. Soon, the score reached 27-18. Despite having an advantage in terms of team strength, the Australian team struggled with their shooting accuracy.

On the other hand, Su Jing seemed to possess an almost perfect shooting record, his performance akin to an unstoppable force. Each time they scored two points, Su Jing snatched them right back.

Whenever they failed to score, Su Jing extended the lead by another two points. This relentless cycle left them frustrated and feeling helpless against his unstoppable momentum.

Little did the Australian team and the spectators know that whenever Su Jing intentionally missed a shot, it was a calculated move made with a casual approach, allowing him to conserve his energy and rest peacefully on the sidelines.

Since the Chinese team could maintain their advantage without exerting unnecessary effort, there was no need for Su Jing to continuously push himself.

Of course, he refrained from using his Spirit Reading Power throughout the game. After all, where would the fun be if he revealed all his abilities from start to finish?

As the first quarter came to an end, the Australian team had managed to score 18 points, which was not an insignificant number. However, the Chinese team boasted an astonishing 27 points, with an impressive 25 of those points contributed by Su Jing alone.

The remaining two points came from another Chinese player who found themselves wide open when all the defensive focus was on Su Jing.

Su Jing’s dominance on the court was undeniable. The attention of the entire audience, both in the arena and in front of their TV screens, was completely fixated on him.
