Time slowly passed, and the turmoil in the Other World finally settled.
At the end of Snake Way, the battle between Talot, Salari, and Raditz had also come to an end.
Raditz and Salari were thoroughly exhausted; after all, using 20x Kaio-ken at full power had an unimaginable energy cost.
“Not bad.” Floating in the air, Talot praised the two.
Hearing this, Raditz and Salari forced out faint smiles.
It was only natural that they felt unwilling. Saiyans all had a strong competitive spirit.
However, they would not become obsessed.
With the fight over, the three of them set off back to North Kai’s Planet.
After a period of rest, the two finally recovered their strength, and Talot took the opportunity to absorb the battle experience gained.
“Rested up? If so, I have some good news to share with you.” North Kai approached them slowly and said.
At his words, the three perked up, curious as to what good news North Kai had to share.
Soon, North Kai explained that he had been contacted by Grand Kai, and in particular, he mentioned that Grand Kai had invited all three of them to visit Grand Kai’s Planet.
“Grand Kai?! Grand Kai’s Planet.” Raditz was shocked. He had thought that the Kais were the highest existence, but now yet another existence had appeared, Grand Kai.
“So you’re saying that above you, Lord Kai, there’s still someone called Grand Kai?” Salari’s horizons were once again expanded. After training on North Kai’s Planet for years, she already understood how high North Kai’s status was. She also knew there were four Kais in the universe.
Now, with the sudden appearance of a Grand Kai, what did that mean? Didn’t it imply that this person was in charge of the entire universe?!
“Grand Kai…” Talot fell into deep thought. He hadn’t expected this battle to actually catch the attention of Grand Kai, something completely beyond his expectations.
As a transmigrator, how could he be unfamiliar with Grand Kai?
In the middle period of Dragon Ball Z, he was the most mysterious old man.
But what was the reason Grand Kai wanted to see them?
His power level was at least hundred million, and is possibly even stronger than East Supreme Kai, Shin.
Seeing the hesitation and confusion on Talot’s face, North Kai added, “Why Lord Grand Kai wants to see you, I don’t know either. But I can assure you, Grand Kai harbors no ill intentions. Perhaps once you arrive, he might even offer you guidance in your training. After all, in all these years, Grand Kai has never specifically named anyone he wanted to meet.”
“Also, there’s something I need to tell you. Haven’t you both always longed for powerful opponents? On Grand Kai’s Planet, there are countless experts from across the universe. After their deaths, they were summoned by the Kais, allowing them to remain on Grand Kai’s Planet…”
As North Kai finished speaking, Talot didn’t show much reaction.
Raditz and Salari, on the other hand, became excited.
What they lacked most right now were opponents, and being able to meet the dead? That was something they had never even imagined.
Talot was still lost in thought.
Of course, he heard North Kai’s words clearly. But just because someone wanted to see him didn’t mean he had to go.
Otherwise, North Kai wouldn’t be using this kind of persuasive tone to tempt him.
“What do you think? This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.” Seeing Talot remain silent for so long, North Kai became a little anxious.
Even though he didn’t know the exact reason Grand Kai wanted to meet Talot and the others, he was certain they wouldn’t be in any danger, on the contrary, the chances of benefiting were much greater.
Hearing the change in North Kai’s tone, Raditz and Salari also turned to look at Talot.
They had always seen Talot as their pillar, and in almost everything they did, Talot made the decisions.
“Going to Grand Kai’s Planet to meet Grand Kai sounds good. Honestly, I’m quite curious about Grand Kai and his planet too! But before that, I may need to delay it for a while. The battle just now gave me a new insight into the Super Saiyan level. And in fact, the reason I came to your place in the first place was to break through, so you’ll need to wait until that’s done,” Talot said.
As soon as those words were spoken, North Kai, Salari, and Raditz were all shocked.
“Talot, are you saying… you’re already able to surpass Super Saiyan?!” Raditz swallowed hard and asked.
He and Salari hadn’t even touched the threshold of Super Saiyan yet, and now Talot was talking about breaking through, didn’t that mean he was about to surpass Super Saiyan?
“Brother Talot, is that true?” Salari asked excitedly.
Unlike Raditz, her shock was filled entirely with joy and pride for Talot.
Talot nodded slightly, though he didn’t sound entirely certain: “As for the result, I’m not sure myself. After all, I’ve never experienced it before, and there’s no precedent! But if nothing unexpected happens, I should be able to go a step further on the foundation of Super Saiyan. It might not truly surpass Super Saiyan, but going beyond the current level shouldn’t be a problem.”
His words were rather reserved, but Raditz and Salari still took it as him surpassing Super Saiyan.
Beside them, North Kai’s eyes behind his sunglasses lit up, and the way he looked at Talot was as if staring at a mountain of gold and treasure.
“If you’re confident about breaking through, that’s a good thing. Lord Grand Kai may have said he wants to meet you, but he didn’t insist or give a specific time. So I’ll inform Lord Grand Kai that once you complete your breakthrough, I’ll take you all to Grand Kai’s Planet,” North Kai said, respecting Talot’s decision.
No!
Rather than saying he respected it, it was more accurate to say he was full of anticipation.
He, too, looked forward to Talot taking that next step; if that happened, he could claim some credit as well.
This was shaping a legend, after all. To go beyond Super Saiyan, how unbelievable was that?
As a Kai, he knew of the existence of Super Saiyans, but even he hadn’t dared to imagine surpassing that state.
Upon hearing this, Talot nodded. “At most, it shouldn’t take more than two or three months. I believe I can do it. So, for the time being, we’ll be staying here at your place again.”
“Stay as long as you like, it’s no big deal. Besides, with all the supplies you’ve brought me, even with Gregory and Bubbles, we couldn’t finish it all,” North Kai agreed without hesitation.
In fact, he hoped that Talot and the others would stay, then he wouldn’t be so bored.
Over the years, it was Talot and his companions’ arrival that had brought some color into his otherwise dull and monotonous life.
Truthfully, at first, North Kai really had planned to use Talot. But after spending time together, that thought gradually faded.
His original plan had been to help Talot grow quickly, then send him to deal with Frieza. After all, Frieza was the one who destroyed Planet Vegeta.
Although behind Frieza stood the God of Destruction Beerus, North Kai had no intention of revealing that information.
But now, everything was different.
He felt fortunate for the decision he had made in the past, because the arrival of Talot and the others had shown him limitless possibilities.
