DBEPV Chapter 107 Bardock: Talot, you have grown up (Part 5)

“You said earlier that you want to take over my body to leave this space. In other words, in your current form, you can’t leave here?” Talot asked.

Darkness bobbed up and down three times in the space, as if nodding: “Yes, I cannot leave. The divine spring granted me the power to exist. Without a vessel, I cannot go out.”

“In that case, over all these years, there have been many explorers, some of them quite powerful. Why didn’t you possess any of them?” Talot asked again.

Darkness answered without hesitation: “I am Darkness formed by the collective resentment of all the dead. An ordinary person’s body cannot withstand me. Over the years, I have tried countless methods and attempted countless times, but have never succeeded.”

“I see, so you figured that I’m strong enough to be your vessel, to help you escape from here?” Talot’s eyes still radiated killing intent.

If Darkness’s answer had shown even the slightest hesitation or suspicious change, Talot would have killed it instantly without mercy.

“Yes. I have never seen a human as powerful as you. After you stepped into this darkness, I used my abilities to sense the desires in your heart. Then, using my soul-summoning powers, I called forth that powerful spiritual body, Bardock…” Darkness answered truthfully.

Before itbcould finish, Talot interrupted him again: “So you saw my memories?”

“No, no. If it were an ordinary person, I could see all of their memories. But you’re different. Your spirit energy is too powerful. I only saw the obsessions and desires within you: your longing to meet Bardock, your immense guilt… Your obsession with the future, to rival the God of Destruction and dance with the Angel… Yet, I could only summon Bardock’s spiritual body. The other two were simply beyond my reach…” Darkness’s answer finally gave Talot the detailed picture.

He really had seen part of his memories, but not all of them.

At the very least, it hadn’t touched the memories of Talot’s transmigrated past life, because those memories had long been buried in the deepest recesses, like being sent to the recycle bin. Unless Talot actively recovered them, they would never surface again.

To put it simply, in his past life, he had neither regrets nor pursuits.

Back to the main point: it was inevitable that Darkness couldn’t summon the spiritual bodies of Beerus and Whis. Just how powerful are those beings?

Among the three, it only had the level to summon Bardock.

“But your power can cross time? It’s unrestricted?! You should know that the Bardock you summoned just now doesn’t exist in the current timeline.” Staring at Darkness, Talot asked again.

Logically speaking, the ability to transcend time is no trivial feat.

“I can answer that question for you. Although the space where the divine spring is located is on Earth, it is an independent dimension, not restricted by time. Darkness’s soul summoning also borrowed the power of the divine spring, which is why it can transcend time. Not only can it summon spiritual bodies from the past, but also from the future. And it’s not limited to spiritual bodies; spirits of the dead can be summoned as well…” The guardian’s aged voice rang out once more.

These words gave Talot a new understanding of the Ultra Divine Water.

As expected, it’s not just a simple item to unlock potential or purify evil.

The uniqueness of the Ultra Divine Water likely includes many abilities he still doesn’t know about.

“Then, can you still perform a summoning now? There’s something I need to say to the Bardock of the past.” Talot continued to look at Darkness.

This made Darkness uneasy and terrified, because it felt that if it gave even the slightest wrong answer, this fiend in front of it would destroy it without hesitation.

It had only wanted to escape this place, but not only did it fail, it also ended up in this state.

“I—I can’t do it anymore… There’s only one chance for the trial, and you’ve already passed it. In my current state, I no longer possess the power to summon.” Darkness answered, trembling.

A look of disappointment flashed across Talot’s face.

“In that case, make the best of what you have left.” As soon as those words fell, Talot vanished from the spot after receiving the final answer.

As soon as he left, the area was once again engulfed in darkness, and Darkness itself felt as if it had been granted a great reprieve.

Deep underground.

Talot suddenly appeared, standing beside a deep, inscrutable spring of Ultra Divine Water.

At the center of the spring was an immensely massive ancient beast.

From the visible portion of its form, it resembled the skull of a giant from ancient times—pitch-black and terrifying, something ordinary people wouldn’t dare look at directly.

But upon closer inspection, one could tell that it was not human, but some unknown life form.

“Even the light emitted by my Super Saiyan form can’t illuminate this place. It truly is a very unique, independent space.”

Talot muttered to himself, his gaze fixed on the guardian ahead.

Though its strength couldn’t be gauged, Talot could still sense that this being did not possess overwhelming strength, yet it had an extraordinarily profound spiritual realm.

At the very least, its existence was above that of the current Kami, but still beneath the level of a Kai.

“I’ve already prepared the Ultra Divine Water for you. It’s in the teapot right beside you. Although you were sent here by Lord Kai, I still must warn you—the Ultra Divine Water is not only poisonous, but extremely toxic. If you don’t have a matching level of potential to unlock, the Ultra Divine Water will cost you your life, even if you’re incredibly powerful.”

The guardian’s words sounded quite severe.

But what he said was indeed the established nature of the Ultra Divine Water.

“I won’t rush to drink the Ultra Divine Water just yet. Right now, I’m more curious about what lies beneath this spring?” Staring at the guardian, Talot, still in his Super Saiyan form, spoke bluntly.

Upon hearing this, the guardian was clearly stunned for a moment.

Receiving no reply only made Talot even more curious.

In his past life, he had often fantasized and made all kinds of wild guesses.

Now that he had actually come here and thought of it again; if he didn’t get to the bottom of this, wouldn’t the whole trip have been in vain?
