DBEPV Chapter 107 Bardock: Talot, you have grown up (Part 4)

It was still caught in its blind confidence, and it knew that if it ended the control now, it would be extremely difficult to take control of this spiritual body again in the future.

This spiritual body was simply too powerful, already pushing the limits of what it could manage to control.

“Arrogant and ignorant.” The dark voice responded decisively, making Talot not even bother wasting more words on it.

This time, a single thought led him to meet Bardock’s spiritual body, and the two exchanged a few words.

Although it felt like their talk ended too soon, since they had no further chance to communicate, he had to act quickly to free Bardock from Darkness’s control before irreversible harm could occur.

Perhaps, in the instant he destroys Darkness, there might still be a chance to send some mental message to Bardock in the past timeline.

For example, telling him to go to Planet Namek of that time and use the Dragon Balls there to make a wish; maybe he could return to this era.

“The ignorant one is you! Hiding here, thinking you’ve seen the whole world? Laughable frog in a well.”

The corners of Talot’s mouth slightly lifted as a flash of emerald green flickered in his eyes.

The Super Saiyan energy pool was fully activated, and in an instant, a dense golden aura erupted beneath Talot’s feet.

His black hair and eyebrows were dyed golden. Without a doubt—Talot had transformed into a Super Saiyan!

“You—You can do it too?!” Darkness felt the energy of Super Saiyan Talot, and panic surged instantly.

From Bardock’s spiritual body’s memories, it had seen the power of this form. It had thought it was a power that belonged solely to the original owner of this spiritual body; it never expected that this human, Talot, could possess the same energy.

“Hmph?! Looks like I was right. Even though you used my obsession to summon Uncle Bardock’s spiritual body, you couldn’t access all of my memories. You only obtained a portion of Uncle Bardock’s memories, which is why you know about the Super Saiyan. Unfortunately, you can’t control that power, or rather the spiritual body can’t transform, so you’re only capable of using this bit of Uncle Bardock’s power.”

Darkness, controlling Bardock’s spiritual body, took a step back with every word, while Talot, maintaining his Super Saiyan and golden radiance, continued to advance on it.

Bathed in the golden light, Talot looked like a sacred war god, dispersing the darkness of this space and forcing a soundless yet perceptible scream from “Darkness.”

“You’re afraid? Now you finally realize that I have the power to completely annihilate you.” A cold sneer came from Talot’s mouth.

Darkness had already fallen into terror.

It began to fear Talot, not because Talot’s power had suddenly surged to an incomprehensible heights, but because within that energy surged a force filled with purifying Positive Energy.

Under the illumination of this light, it found itself completely powerless to resist.

Even its control over the spiritual body began to weaken continuously.

Clutching its head and howling in agony, thick black energy began to seep from Bardock’s body—an utterly terrifying sight.

Talot had initially believed that the combination of the Positive Energy he released and Saiyan energy would be enough to expel Darkness from Bardock’s spiritual body.

But unexpectedly, as the black mist continued to dissipate, Bardock’s spiritual body also began to unravel—fading in and out, as if it might vanish at any moment.

It wasn’t until a sharp shriek shook Talot to his core that Darkness fully retreated, and Bardock’s spiritual body instantly regained consciousness, raising his hand toward Talot.

Before he could even utter a word, his figure grew fainter and fainter.

Realizing the sudden turn of events, Talot didn’t hesitate. In that critical moment, he released a burst of spirit energy and sent it into Bardock’s vanishing spiritual body.

One second later—

Bardock, with a longing gaze, vanished completely. Darkness fled into nothingness, its fate unknown.

He couldn’t sense it, but Talot was sure it hadn’t died. It was merely hiding, terrified of being utterly destroyed by him.

“You think you can escape? Even if I can’t sense your presence, I know for sure—you were severely wounded, weren’t you? As long as I stay here and keep releasing energy, you’ll vanish sooner or later!” With a mocking glint in his eye, Talot had long made up his mind to destroy Darkness.

Not just because it had toyed with Bardock, but also because it might have glimpsed the memories from the deepest corners of his mind.

He was a transmigrator, after all. If Darkness saw that, it would be no trivial matter.

Even the smallest glimpse could be deadly.

No voice came from Darkness. It was as if it had truly died—perhaps Talot was just overthinking.

But Talot’s innate, extraordinary perception told him otherwise.

He kept releasing Saiyan energy, and through it, transmitted Positive Energy. Visibly, the darkness in this space grew thinner and thinner, no longer able to block the light from above as it had before.

“Save… save… save me… save me~~!”

In the void, the voice of Darkness indeed echoed.

But this kind of cry for help actually piqued a bit of Talot’s interest.

He had a rough idea of who Darkness was praying to; he just didn’t know whether that so-called guardian would actually show up.

“Sigh~!” A sigh rang out in response.

Talot immediately realized that there must be some kind of special connection between the guardian and Darkness.

Or perhaps, after being together for countless years, even enemies could develop feelings.

“You want to save it? Save this embodiment of resentment?” Talot narrowed his eyes, and his aura had already locked onto the guardian hidden in the space below.

The guardian seemed to know that Talot had sensed his presence and did not attempt to block it. Instead, he began to speak: “Honored warrior, I have already received instructions from Lord Kai. In truth, you could have come directly to me and avoided much trouble. But the accident that should not have happened still occurred. Darkness was indeed in the wrong, trying to break free from control, but its existence is one of the three trials that guard the Ultra Divine Water. It was only because it was acknowledged by the divine spring that it continued to exist. Now that it is on the brink of collapse, it has already been punished. I hope you can spare it.”

The aged voice made Talot feel like he was negotiating with someone who had one foot in the grave.

After hearing the plea on its behalf, Darkness stopped hiding, revealing its true form, and floated silently in space.

Upon seeing this, Talot raised his hand, condensing Positive Energy in his palm.

Darkness trembled in fear, just like the surge of Negative Energy that had once erupted from Slug’s body.

Destroy it?

Or spare its life?

After a long internal struggle, Talot finally let out a breath and withdrew the Positive Energy.

“I can spare your life, but you’ll have to answer some questions!” Talot said.

Darkness responded with a trembling voice: “P-please… go ahead.”

It was truly afraid.

Even though it was darkness, to it, death meant truly vanishing into complete nothingness, never to exist again.
