Frowning, Talot raised his hand to block the threatening punch. Fortunately, his own strength was sufficient, otherwise it would’ve been difficult to stop for an average person.
Even someone at the same level—500,000 power level—would suffer serious injuries if they took that punch while off guard.
Shocked by Bardock’s strength?!
Indeed.
But what Talot cared more about now was that Bardock had shouted his name at the last moment. Although not very loudly, there was an urgency and warning in his tone.
[What the hell is going on? Could this Bardock actually be the real Bardock? You’ve got to be kidding me. With Earth’s level, even if it’s Darkness, could it really have the ability to transcend time???] Talot questioned inwardly.
This was practically defying the heavens.
“No… wait! Could it be… Uncle Bardock’s spiritual body was summoned here by you? And now you’ve taken control of him?” Talot asked, his expression grave.
It was obvious—this spiritual body Bardock was no longer the same as before.
Just those eyes alone made it clear.
“What do you think?” a cold, dual-toned demonic voice replied, sending chills down Talot’s spine.
This was the first time since transmigrating into this world that he ever felt this way.
Darkness having the ability to control a spiritual body Bardock with 500,000 power level—what did that mean? Darkness’ strength likely exceeded anything he had imagined.
But if it was so powerful, why was it trapped in this lightless place?
If it ever reached the outside world—who on Earth could possibly restrain it?
“How did you do it?!”
Just as he asked, Talot once again felt Bardock’s power surging toward him.
A pale white aura exploded violently, forcing Talot back several meters. Bardock then lunged forward, his fists and feet attacking with the fury of a torrential storm, relentless and fierce.
Bardock’s unique fighting style!
No—this wasn’t right!
Compared to the fighting style he had experienced thirteen years ago while training with Bardock and fighting against him, this was far more refined.
It was practically an upgraded version of an upgraded version.
“Just from this fighting style, I’m already sure of it! But were you really in such a rush to take control of Bardock? You could’ve at least let me talk to him a bit more. Or… are you afraid you can’t maintain control over Bardock, so you’re desperately trying to use his power to defeat me?!” Talot shouted angrily as he defended against the fierce onslaught.
If it was real, then that meant the exchange just now was what Bardock himself most wanted to know.
Perhaps due to being in another timeline, Bardock couldn’t control himself, but once he regained consciousness in that world, he might be able to recall this conversation.
Talot thought of the most likely possibility: that Bardock in another timeline was in a dormant state, as if in a dream, and that the Darkness on this side had used a special summoning method to draw him here.
Now, he remembered how in the original work, Goku had seen Master Roshi.
He too had been forcibly summoned from the Other World and controlled by Darkness, just like the others.
“You’re quite clever. So I helped you meet the person you most wanted to see. In return, give me your body! With the strength of your body, it can fully withstand my possession.” The dark voice spoke through Bardock’s mouth.
Eerie and horrifying.
“You want my body? Hmph! Coming one after another, huh? Not long ago, a wave of Negative Energy tried to take over my body, and I purged it. You’ll be no different!” A fierce glint flashed in Talot’s eyes, and he immediately struck out.
BOOM!!!! A powerful punch exploded forth.
Darkness controlling Bardock was sent skidding back over a dozen meters by the powerful punch, yet it didn’t show a trace of injury.
“Kid, a spiritual body isn’t something regular attacks can harm. And even if this spiritual body is hurt, it’s just this spiritual body that will suffer.” Darkness twisted Bardock’s face into a sinister smile.
It had to be said—that evil, arrogant expression was truly revolting.
Talot considered himself someone who rarely hated a being, but this Darkness… was even more detestable than that wave of Negative Energy.
While Negative Energy had only just begun to develop self-awareness, it didn’t disgust people like this.
But Darkness was different. Talot even suspected, could this be another embodiment of the Negative Energy in a different form?
“Wait a second! Don’t tell me you’re a being born from the countless resentful wills of all those who’ve died here since ancient times?” Talot made a bold hypothesis.
This time, Darkness didn’t respond, rather it fell completely silent.
The contrast in behavior was too stark, completely unlike the Darkness’s prior demeanor. Talot immediately became certain: that had to be the truth.
No wonder this Darkness felt so strange to him, yet he couldn’t quite put his finger on what it was.
It was the spiritual embodiment of resentment—from all the people who had died in pursuit of the Ultra Divine Water throughout the ages, unable to transcend after death, all absorbed by this entity. That’s what made it so powerful.
The embodiment of collective resentment!
Talot couldn’t help but recall the resentful warrior Hatchiyack, born from rage in the movie’s parallel universe.
Indeed, very similar!
“You deserve to die, human.” With that command, Darkness launched a ferocious attack using Bardock’s body.
That snapped Talot out of his thoughts.
“You’re in such a rush. Don’t you know haste makes waste? I’ll admit I’m surprised by your existence, but you clearly don’t understand the disparity between us! Even if you’ve borrowed Uncle Bardock’s spiritual body, you’re still no match for me.”
At this level of intensity, unless Darkness could somehow make Bardock transform into a Super Saiyan, the mere 500,000 power level simply wasn’t enough to be his match.
Even Raditz with a power level of 600,000 could defeat Bardock.
Even if, as Darkness claimed, a spiritual body doesn’t take damage easily, and it’s only the spiritual body that would get injured—
Talot had many ways to counter even that.
All these years of painstaking training, especially over the past year or two, had led to significant breakthroughs. He had prepared early for the future with all kinds of special training.
“Shut up! In this space, I am the master! You’re nothing but my prey.” Darkness’s rebuttal confirmed his strength to Talot.
“I’ll give you a chance too, release your control. Let me have a proper conversation with Uncle Bardock, and I won’t kill you. How about that?” Standing firm, Talot stopped actively defending against the attacks.
Even if these punches and kicks landed on his body, they won’t do any real harm; especially now that he had mobilized the Super Saiyan energy reserves within him.
Faced with such provocation, how could the Darkness possibly agree?
