If he couldn’t even sense such a counterattack, then he was truly too weak.
However, even if he did react, it posed no threat to Talot.
Talot was faster. He didn’t choose to meet the attack head-on, but instead sidestepped the punch and delivered a punch of his own straight into Slug’s stomach.
“Puh~~~!” A mouthful of vomit mixed with blood sprayed out from Slug’s mouth.
That strike had truly hit a vital spot.
“Your strength has indeed improved a lot, but your body, your defense — they’re still far too weak,” Talot said, his words cutting like a sharp critique, making Slug grit his teeth and roar in anger.
“You damn wild monkey, don’t get cocky!!” Slug bellowed, swinging his fists in a furious barrage. The ground trembled continuously under the assault, and cracks spread across the entire island.
Smoke and dust billowed everywhere. Slug, burning with rage, unleashed nearly twenty punches before he realized — Talot had already disappeared.
Talot hadn’t just dodged with speed — he had used a short-range Instant Transmission, appearing behind Slug, arms crossed, calmly watching him lose his mind.
“Hey, hey, hey~! Are you done yet? I’m right behind you,” Talot called out, drawing Slug’s attention. As Slug turned his head, Talot closed the distance and landed a kick on his forehead.
The violent kick sent Slug tumbling across the ground, rolling over a dozen times before he could stabilize himself.
The difference in power was now crystal clear.
Talot didn’t even need to use Kaio-ken, let alone transform into a Super Saiyan.
At first, Talot had been a little interested in him — he had even suppressed the anger he felt when Slug was brutalizing Salari.
But now it seemed like fighting him was a complete waste of time.
It turned out Slug’s strength was nothing more than brute force — overwhelming only those who were weaker than himself by sheer physical power.
To Talot, this kind of “growth” was utterly disgraceful — having strength but failing to use it properly, yet still arrogantly thinking oneself powerful.
Just as Talot’s mind was racing with these thoughts, a voice suddenly rang out.
[North Kai?] Hearing it, Talot instinctively looked up.
He didn’t know why, but every time he received a telepathic message, Talot would instinctively look up, as if the voice was coming from above.
[You finally heard me, Talot. You should finish off Slug quickly. Even though your strength is more than enough, you should still remember the knowledge I once taught you: Negative Energy is influenced and amplified by emotions. I can feel it — Negative Energy exists within Slug as its vessel, and there is an even greater evil dormant inside him. If you don’t kill him now, once he draws out that power, it will be much harder to deal with…] North Kai hurried to organize his thoughts, trying to convey everything he needed to Talot.
[An even greater evil inside him?] Talot was slightly stunned, caught off guard.
Things had already escalated to this degree — and yet there was still something hidden?
If all of it were unleashed… just how powerful would he become?
As soon as this thought crossed his mind, North Kai seemed to sense Talot’s impulsiveness and was about to say something more, but at that moment, another voice interrupted — the Grand Elder’s.
[Lord Kai is right, Talot. Don’t hesitate any longer. Though it saddens me, Slug has truly fallen into darkness. There’s no saving him now…]
Talot remained silent.
North Kai, however, was surprised: [Grand Elder of Namek, your telepathy technique is quite impressive — even I, a Kai, didn’t expect you to hear the messages I was sending Talot.]
[Oh, it’s nothing special,] the Grand Elder replied humbly. [I’ve spent a lot of time developing my telepathy further. As the Grand Elder of Planet Namek, I also inherited a more complete legacy of knowledge.]
As the two continued their conversation, both voices suddenly faded away.
They must have moved their exchange into each other’s mind to avoid distracting Talot during battle.
Talot didn’t mind. His attention remained fixed on Slug, who was slowly getting back to his feet.
Being an old man, despite being strengthened by Negative Energy, Slug’s body was already reaching the end of its lifespan.
“It seems even you didn’t realize that an enormous amount of Negative Energy still hides within you. This Negative Energy has likely developed a consciousness of their own. They know that if they fully take over your body, it would only accelerate its collapse.”
“What a pity. If you still had the body of your younger days, fully absorbing the Negative Energy might have allowed you to fight me at full strength. But now… you’re nothing more than a spent arrow.”
With those words, Talot made up his mind.
His aura surged dramatically. Pushing the power of his humanoid Great Ape form to its limit, a blood-red aura ignited around him.
Kaio-ken! 2x!!
His power level skyrocketed, reaching 40 million!
The atmosphere itself seemed to tremble.
Gravel floated into the air, the ground shook violently, and even the ocean rolled and churned…
Facing Talot, Slug now felt like a prey before a natural predator. At last, he realized — something was terribly wrong. He was no match for Talot. Not even close.
“D-damn it… If only… If only I could regain my youth…” Slug fell into a spiral of despair.
Previously, Slug had pursued regaining his youth. Later, after absorbing Negative Energy, he believed he had surpassed even the peak of his younger self. Now, once again, he desperately longed to be young again.
Come to think of it, it’s only natural — anyone, when faced with certain doom, will constantly reflect and desperately search for a way out.
“It seems you’ve already lost the will to fight. There’s no point in continuing this battle any longer!” With a simple raise of his hand, Talot began to gather an incredibly terrifying energy.
The golden energy, as if alive, was refined again and again, until it reached an extremely dense state.
Having reached its current magnitude, even this small amount is enough to shatter a massive planet.
Planet Namek beneath their feet would be no exception.
Of course, Talot wasn’t planning to use this power to destroy the planet.
It was more than enough to obliterate Slug.
“W-wait, wait! I still have something to say—” Facing imminent death, Slug tried to beg for mercy, but Talot had no intention of giving him another chance to speak.
“This technique… is one of the ultimate techniques I developed but have never used on anyone before. Now, you’ll be the first to experience it.”
With a wave of his hand, the golden energy bomb, charged with endless lightning—the “King’s Bomb” shot straight out. As it moved, it locked onto Slug as its target, its trajectory difficult to track.
“No~! I’m not afraid — I’m not afraid!!!” Slug roared furiously.
It also seemed as if the Negative Energy within him was acting up, causing him to use his full power to resist.
He fired blast after blast of Negative Energy from his hands, colliding with the ever-expanding energy sphere of King’s Bomb.
Explosions rang out one after another, but the Negative Energy blasts were not only unable to stop or cancel it out, they instead stimulated the King’s Bomb energy sphere, causing it to expand even further.
In the end, overwhelmed by fear, Slug didn’t even have the ability to escape, completely frozen in terror, before being engulfed by the energy.
Under the devouring of the King’s Bomb, Slug’s body was instantly torn apart, and even his bones were reduced to dust…
It was an absolutely horrifying scene, reminiscent of the moment in Dragon Ball GT when Goku used the Spirit Bomb to obliterate Omega Shenron in an instant.
The only difference was that, compared to that moment, the scale of this battle was on a much, much lower level.
