DBEPV Chapter 101 S Cells, the Sleeping Beauty in Devil’s Castle (Part 2)

A sense of oppression swept over everyone’s body and mind.

Although it was nothing to Talot, he could still feel Raditz’s current condition.

“Can he succeed?…” Salari questioned from the side. In truth, she also wanted to give it a try, but Raditz had stepped up first.

Talot shook his head. Although he didn’t speak, this gesture already conveyed his opinion.

“Wrong, completely wrong. When Talot broke through, the focus wasn’t just the energy within his body, but also a special factor that moved along with the rhythm of the energy! That should be a unique type of cell that you Saiyans possess, which can trigger a mutation in your bodies to achieve the Super Saiyan transformation,” North Kai suddenly said.

His words stunned not only Salari, but even Talot was shocked.

He didn’t expect North Kai to see things so clearly.

He was a transmigrator, which is why he knew that the key to a Saiyan becoming a Super Saiyan was the S-cells.

But North Kai had deduced some clues just by observing, which was nothing short of incredible.

“So that means, as long as we can sense that special cell and gather it together with our energy at the back, we can complete the breakthrough?” Salari, in some situations, reacted very quickly.

She believed North Kai’s words that easily?

Of course she did.

After all these years of interaction, they had relied on North Kai’s strength to improve more than just a little, and had never doubted his vast knowledge.

Talot followed with a nod and said, “Before, I couldn’t explain it clearly, so I only said to focus your power at the back. But with North Kai’s reminder, it’s clear that this process requires the assistance of that factor! For now, let’s just call it the S-cell.”

“S-cell, huh? That name does fit well,” North Kai said.

“So no matter how strong Raditz is, without the S-cells, he can’t transform into a Super Saiyan,” Salari added.

As the attempt dragged on longer and longer, after Raditz had completely vented all his emotions, his aura sharply dropped, and he finally returned to his normal state.

“Damn it, so I really can’t do it?!”

He was unwilling to accept it, but there was nothing he could do.

He could only comfort himself in another way, thinking that Talot became a Super Saiyan only after his base power level had reached 1.5 million.

The difference in power was just too great. If his own power level had surpassed one million, perhaps the result would have been different.

Returning to where Talot and Salari were, the disappointment on Raditz’s face was obvious at a glance.

Talot and Salari then shared what they had just discussed earlier, using North Kai’s explanation to fully describe the method of transforming into a Super Saiyan.

This gave Raditz a new sense of direction. At the very least, he now had a clearer understanding of the path to break through — and that he needed to sense the presence of those S-cells.

“Don’s try to run before you can walk. Everything needs to be done step by step. If it were that easy to break through, then all the suffering Talot endured over the years would have been for nothing!” North Kai’s words brought both Raditz and Salari back to a more grounded state of mind.

It was the simplest truth — you can’t eat hot tofu in a hurry.

In the blink of an eye, nearly three months had passed.

Earth.

Ever since arriving at Kame House three months ago to study under Master Roshi, the days passed by one after another. Whether it was Goku, Yamcha, or Krillin, all three had seen a tremendous boost in their strength.

Yamcha and Krillin in particular had made breakthroughs far beyond the achievements they had reached in the original work.

With their current strength, the two of them could be considered on par with Goku in the original timeline.

However, ever since Goku’s changes, the gap between them had suddenly grown so vast it was impossible to compare.

A power level of 150 — how could that even be compared to someone with only around 10?

Still, to be fair, even though Goku could breeze through most of the training from Master Roshi, he still earnestly accompanied Yamcha and Krillin in completing theirs.

Doing so every day not only helped the three develop a deep bond, but also a strong sense of teamwork and coordination.

Speaking strictly in numbers, although Goku’s power level only increased by less than 20, considering the intensity of the training, him reaching 166 through his own hard work was no easy feat.

Because he was still too young, Goku had been trying hard to break through in the area of Ki training, but he just couldn’t fully understand it yet.

Yamcha and Krillin’s power levels, on the other hand, had broken through to 55 and 52 respectively!

It had only taken three months for them to completely transform — becoming powerful individuals beyond what normal people could hope to match, and even became immune to damage from ordinary Earth-based firearms.

Sure, they were still far behind Goku, but at least their strength was steadily improving, and they had hope of catching up to him.

In this time period — in this era — things weren’t as brutal as the Z-era storyline yet.

It was still the early years. As long as they could gain a bit of an edge, there was hope they could grow stronger and possibly catch up to Goku.

But this was also likely the limit. Once the Saiyans fully developed, with their genetic advantages and various innate abilities, they would become something Earthlings simply couldn’t compare to.

Today, the weather was clear and sunny.

Master Roshi was on the beach, happily admiring the latest issue of a dirty magazine.

Over the past couple of days, he hadn’t needed to check on his disciples’ training progress or assign them any training tasks, which gave him some well-deserved rest.

After three months, he’d almost broken his old bones.

Suddenly, the sound of a jet plane echoed through the sky, prompting him to instinctively raise his head to look.

The jet plane slowly descended onto the small island, and from it stepped a woman, a humanoid pig, and a strange flying cat…

Master Roshi, sharp-eyed as always, was first caught off guard by the woman’s beauty and energy — but quickly recognized who they were.

It was Bulma, Oolong, and Puar.

Because they hadn’t seen each other for several months and missed them dearly, the three had left West City and come here.

After chatting for a while, they learned that Goku, Krillin, and Yamcha had gone off to complete a mission — a task designed by Master Roshi to test the progress of their training over the past few months.

The three of them were a little disappointed.

They’d made the trip, only to miss them.

“So, they went to that mysterious, ancient region that normal people don’t even dare approach? It’s said that anyone who enters either gets lost in the mist or never comes out… And you assigned them a mission to find the ‘Sleeping Princess’? Aren’t you just setting them up for disaster? Hold on—Sleeping Princess… Why does that sound familiar? I feel like I’ve read something similar in a fairy tale…” Bulma sorted through her thoughts and memories as she spoke.
