“This is a test! A test! You don’t understand—get out of the way. Let me handle these guys!”
As for what exactly the Marines’ wyvern unit was, Queen had more or less figured it out. The dragon scales of those wyverns were enough to withstand ordinary firearms. That made them tough opponents for regular pirates, but for Queen, they were a piece of cake.
Not to mention his Solar Beam and laser cannon—even his energy balls or the modified missiles he’d built earlier would be more than enough to break through these dragons’ defenses. But he didn’t use them at all. In fact, he was deliberately missing his shots to drag things out longer.
To Queen, these wyverns were just for show—but highly intimidating. Their attacks looked terrifying too, making them excellent tools for slacking off.
He’d wanted to find a Shichibukai to slack off with, but Yamato was already slacking off with two Shichibukai, which was just barely acceptable.
Of the remaining Shichibukai, the only one left to slack off with was Doflamingo. But if he ended up tangling with Doflamingo under Kaido’s watchful eye and couldn’t come out on top quickly, the only thing waiting for him would be special training.
At least, up here far away from Kaido in the sky, he could still take it easy for a while.
Just then, the wyvern whose neck had been bitten off by Hydrachton finished regenerating. It was much slower than the original Hydrachton, but had still broken past the limits of a normal creature. And right at that moment, a laser blast struck it.
“See? It’s not even dead. Sure, you’re always fighting alongside Boss Kaido, but you still have a lot to learn. Go play with those Giants instead—leave this to me.
If that’s not good enough, see that big green guy over there? That one’s a descendant of a demon—go play with it too if you want.”
Queen was trying to get Hydrachton to change battlefields so he could go back to slacking off, but he failed.
It wasn’t that Hydrachton was hard to fool—it was just that it had picked up some bad habits from Kaido, like snatching the opponents it wanted. To it, these wyverns were way more interesting than the Giants or whatever.
Ignoring Queen’s words, Hydrachton charged straight toward the wyvern unit in the sky, killing Queen’s plan in the cradle.
“Damn it, even it won’t let me have peace. If I’d known, I should’ve gone down before Miss Yamato did.”
Yamato had already claimed the top actress spot, leaving Queen with no chance to perform. Watching Yamato still slacking off, he suddenly felt a bit jealous.
“Whatever… I’ll just go play with a few Vice Admirals later. Hope those guys are cooperative enough…”
As he looked at the tsunami crashing toward Marineford, Queen began plotting his next move. Meanwhile, Shayna and King were searching for clues possibly related to Blackbeard. Down below, the battle didn’t stop due to the sudden tsunami—it only became more intense.
“Everyone! Use the tsunami to break through the encirclement! Oars! Get ready!”
Whitebeard’s powerful voice echoed across most of the plaza. With Den Den Mushi inconvenient to use in this situation, shouting at the top of one’s lungs had become the best form of communication.
The tsunami was a crisis, but also an opportunity. For Marineford right now, the tsunami wasn’t the greatest threat—because Kuzan was still performing his duties as a Marine Admiral. With his freezing abilities, he could still manage to contain the surrounding seawater.
But before he could freeze the tsunami, Whitebeard managed to make use of it.
Whitebeard slammed his fist onto the ice surface, causing the frozen sea to crack apart. At that moment, the impact of the tsunami reached the area, and the once calm seawater, swept along by the tsunami, surged towards the area above the plaza.
Within the seawater, a pirate ship with coating burst forth with the water. This was Whitebeard’s hidden trump card. From the very beginning, he had kept a surprise unit concealed beneath the sea.
Riding the massive wave formed by the tsunami, the ship successfully crossed over the Marine’s Encircling Wall. Although Kuzan froze the wave in time, the pirate ship—thanks to Oars’ help—still managed to reach the top of the Encircling Wall.
There was no other choice. Freezing the wave would give the pirates a chance to break through the wall. But if he didn’t, the enormous tsunami was enough to wipe out any Marine below the rank of Rear Admiral.
Due to its own weight, the ice—which had only frozen the stern of the pirate ship—failed to hold it in place. Instead, the ship toppled over, leaning against the Marine’s Encircling Wall and the ground, providing a suitable foothold for Whitebeard’s pirates.
“There’s a breach! Brothers, charge! Let’s rescue Ace!”
The Marine’s Encircling Wall was originally a vertical barrier. But with the help of the ice surface and the pirate ship, a small hill-like slope had formed, giving the pirates a chance to break through.
…
At this moment, Deuce was no longer a member of the Spade Pirates, but had joined the Whitebeard Pirates alongside Ace, and was now leading the 2nd Division’s pirates at the front lines.
Jumping straight down from the tall steel wall wasn’t realistic. That pirate ship from earlier had become the only viable path, which naturally drew the Marine’s rear artillery fire onto it.
Whitebeard’s division commanders were now intercepting artillery shells, keeping the passage open for the pirates behind them.
But just as they climbed along the ice surface toward the top of the Encircling Wall, what greeted them was a blinding flash.
“Hey, hey, I can’t just let you guys pass like that—Yasakani Sacred Jewel!”
“Flashy brat, get out of my way!”
Just as the Yasakani Sacred Jewel was about to fire, it was forcibly interrupted. A terrifying shockwave forced Kizaru to dodge Whitebeard’s attack first.
But just as he widened the distance, Whitebeard appeared right in front of him again.
“Sacred Yata Mirror!”
After a series of reflections, Kizaru escaped Whitebeard’s attack range. His expression lost some of its usual playfulness.
“So this is… the young Whitebeard?”
“Gurararara! This is a power I haven’t felt in ages, Sengoku! Hand over my son… now!”
Boom!
Whitebeard slammed a fist into the air. The ice layer ahead was shattered by the force of his attack, and massive ice boulders, each over ten meters in diameter, fell like raindrops toward the Marines below.
“Stay calm!”
On the execution platform, Sengoku’s figure began to grow larger. A golden shockwave burst from the palm of the Buddha-transformed Sengoku, striking the airborne chunks of ice and pulverizing them into dust.
“It’s just the young Whitebeard—that’s all. Even when he was young, he couldn’t destroy Marine Headquarters, and he won’t now either! Concentrate your fire! They only have one path forward!”
Kizaru was still locked in a standoff with Whitebeard, Garp remained caught in internal conflict, and Aokiji’s powers weren’t suited for dealing with the ice chunks. That’s why Sengoku had to step in and clear the ice chunks himself.
With Sengoku transforming, Marines morale surged again, and a new round of confrontation with the Whitebeard Pirates began.
“Fleet Admiral Sengoku, the time has come. The Whitebeard Pirates are now fully within the encirclement. I recommend executing Fire Fist Ace immediately.”
Akainu’s voice came from the side. Having just dealt with the matter of deserters, he suggested after seeing the situation of the war.
