“Be careful!”
In the blink of an eye, a hemispherical space enveloped the surrounding area. In Law’s heart, Lami was almost certainly his sister. Even though it wasn’t confirmed yet, a strong protective instinct arose within him—he wanted to move Lami to a safe place.
As for the other children beside her…
Law didn’t care. He was no longer that naive child.
People change. Law’s initial dream was simple—to become a great doctor like his father.
But after the Flevance incident, when his family and classmates were all killed, his mind collapsed, and he became cold and ruthless.
His sole purpose in staying alive was to take revenge on the world, to destroy everything in the little time he had left.
Rosinante’s kindness saved him. The life he led afterward made him cherish his comrades, but the coldness in his heart never faded. For those who had nothing to do with him and couldn’t bring him any benefit, he had no intention of lending a hand.
At the moment, he could only shift one person. Of course, he would protect the one who seemed to be his sister. But an awkward problem arose.
When he successfully used Room: Shambles to move Lami, placing her in a safe position, in the next instant, she returned to her previous spot once again, with the bricks and rubble all clutched in her hands.
“Captain, she seems to be even more agile than you.”
“…”
Law paid no attention to his subordinate’s teasing and instead focused on Lami’s wrist, which had been exposed due to her large movements. A faint birthmark came into view.
It was the same birthmark his biological sister had. With this birthmark, along with that unique connection, he was now certain—she was his sister.
But now that he had confirmation, he no longer wanted to force a reunion.
If Lami still remembered him, it would be different. But right now, it was clear she had amnesia and had no recollection of him.
And he had things he had to do—his hatred toward Doflamingo ran deep, and he had to avenge Rosinante.
Law didn’t even know if he could defeat Doflamingo.
If he couldn’t, then reuniting with Lami would only bring more sorrow. Knowing that his sister was alive and seemingly doing well—that was enough for him.
Reuniting could wait until after he had defeated Doflamingo.
“So cool! Sister Lami, you’re amazing!”
“Sister Lami, you’re so strong! Can you also crush bricks with your bare hands?”
In the eyes of the slum children, Lami—who had brought them food and protected them—was becoming an increasingly heroic figure.
“You can do it too if you study. For now, follow these two uncles to the ship and go find Sister Isuka, okay? Sister will come find you soon.”
Lami waved over a few Beasts Fruits employees who had been watching the commotion nearby.
Bricks and rubble don’t just fly on their own—an explosion had just occurred at the restaurant next door, which caused this situation.
Ordinary people had already fled in all directions, but the Beasts Fruits employees were used to such chaos and had stuck around to see who was foolish enough to be fighting in this area. Lami happened to spot them.
Since she frequently operated in Sabaody Archipelago, the employees here were very familiar with both Lami and Isuka, so taking care of small matters like this was no problem.
This was no longer a safe place for children to stay—it was better to have them leave first.
“Okay~”
With a chorus of responses, the children followed the Beasts Fruits employees away. Lami, however, turned her gaze toward Law. At that moment, she found him a little strange—his goal didn’t seem to be sending his regards to Sister Misu, but rather her.
She had chosen not to leave with the children to prevent Law from dragging them into any trouble.
“Mister pirate, your flirting skills are pretty bad, you know?”
“Cough, cough—f-flirting?!”
Law almost choked on his own saliva—Lami’s words had shattered his composure even before meeting Luffy. After all, being accused of flirting by his own little sister was not a pleasant experience.
But in Lami’s eyes, a complete stranger suddenly finding an excuse to talk to her could only be considered an attempt at flirting.
“Isn’t that the case? I have absolutely no interest in your type.”
“Well, that’s really unfortunate.”
Law didn’t bother explaining and simply went along with Lami’s words.
Boom!
Law had originally wanted to gather more information about Lami, but before he could, a bigger explosion erupted from the nearby wall. This time, it wasn’t just scattered rubble—a massive hole had been blown open, and a figure was sent flying out from it.
“If you wanna fight, come at me! You have no idea how strong I am, do you?!”
A member of the Longarm Tribe stood by the hole in the wall, yelling in anger. He was none other than one of the Super Rookies, captain of the On-Air Pirates—the Roar of the Sea, Scratchmen Apoo. His bounty: 198 million Berries.
He had originally just been eating inside the restaurant, but a disagreement quickly escalated into a full-blown fight. To be more precise, both sides found each other unlikeable, leading to the current situation.
“Then stop staring at me, you disgusting b*stard! Just looking at you pisses me off—I’ll kill you right now!”
Apoo’s opponent stepped out of the tavern as well—bright red hair, and for now, still a complete body.
Captain of the Kid Pirates—Eustass Kid. His bounty: 315 million Berries. Among this generation of Super Rookies, he was the one with the highest bounty.
“Captain! You can’t fight here—this is Sabaody Archipelago!”
“Apoo-san, calm down!”
Seeing their leaders about to start fighting, their subordinates quickly stepped in to dissuade them. Making too much of a scene on Sabaody Archipelago wouldn’t do anyone any good.
But every Super Rookie who had made it this far was a troublemaker among troublemakers—not all of them were capable of rational thinking.
A magnetic force began to gather in Kid’s hand. The knives and forks from the restaurant, along with any nearby metal objects, flew toward Apoo under his control.
He had eaten the Magnet-Magnet Fruit, a Paramecia-type Devil Fruit that allowed him to create magnetic fields, magnetizing and manipulating metal objects at will.
Among the Super Rookies, Kid was the most violent, prone to flying into a rage over the smallest things. His attack showed no concern for anyone nearby—the flying knives and forks included both Lami and Law in their range.
For someone of their skill, dodging this kind of attack wasn’t difficult. Normally, Law wouldn’t have been angry about something like this—he might’ve even greeted Kid with a smirk.
But this time was different.
Watching Kid’s indiscriminate attack, a surge of anger burned in Law’s heart.
“ROOM!”
The space of the Op-Op Fruit expanded once more, and Law had already drawn his sword, slashing at Kid, who was about to continue his attack on Apoo.
Though Kid managed to dodge the slash, seeing the floating stones behind him gave him a bad feeling.
“Takt!”
Law raised his fingers upward, sending a torrent of rubble, chairs, and tables flying toward Kid from behind—as if trying to bury him alive. At the same time, a spinning scythe came slashing toward Law, only for a massive pillar to come crashing down on whoever dared attack him.
In an instant, the once-peaceful scene had completely vanished, replaced by a chaotic battlefield where multiple forces clashed.
